Full Job Description

Overview:

The Area Office Coordinator (AOC) plays a vital role in supporting the operational success of multiple Care Hospice Locations within the Northeast Region. This will include, but is not limited to, our South Atlantic Area (Virginia) and our Mid-Atlantic Area (New Jersey & Pennsylvania).

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING FOR A HOSPICE OR HOME HEALTH COMPANY.

The Area Office Coordinator (AOC) provides leadership, EMR training, audits, and guidance to administrative teams; supports documentation processes; and helps optimize systems and workflows across locations. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented, collaborative professional who enjoys mentoring others, analyzing processes, and contributing to high-quality hospice care.

***While this position is remote, the successful candidate must be able to travel at least 50% of the time, with the flexibility to accommodate additional travel requirements based on business needs, including occasional travel outside of the assigned territory. The role will require supporting assigned locations, attending meetings, and developing strong partnerships with operational leaders. Candidates residing within the supported areas of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Virginia are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

Support consistent, high-quality business office operations across multiple hospice locations through training, tools, and best-practice guidance
Partner with Area and Program leadership to analyze operational and administrative data, identify trends, and drive process improvements
Serve as a key resource for EMR systems, collaborating with Education, IT, Clinical, and Operations teams on training, troubleshooting, and system optimization
Support accurate and timely payroll and billing processes by reinforcing documentation standards, resolving discrepancies, and helping prevent billing delays
Promote timely, accurate admissions and discharge documentation through audits, reporting, and HIPAA-compliant practices
Model organizational values and hospice philosophy through professionalism, collaboration, and compassionate service
Provides strategic support for system implementations related to acquisitions and enterprise-wide electronic medical record (EMR) rollouts, facilitating seamless integration, adoption, and operational continuity.
Prepares and delivers comprehensive daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in accordance with organizational requirement

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred
Minimum of three (3) years of progressive healthcare administrative experience
Hospice or home healthcare experience required
Knowledge of hospice operations, healthcare documentation, regulatory compliance, payroll, billing, and office operations is strongly preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or comparable software, as well as experience working in EMR and HRIS systems
Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is in accordance with state and organizational requirements and is in good working order
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Ability to take initiative, set priorities, multitask, and organize work. Must be self-motivated and detail-oriented.
Ability and willingness to travel a minimum of 50% of the time, with flexibility to accommodate additional travel requirements based on business needs, including occasional travel outside of the assigned territory.
Skilled at delivering presentations and conducting training sessions for large audiences, both in person and through virtual platforms

$50,000 - $64,000 per year (Average Pay Range). The pay range listed represents a general guideline for the role and is not a guarantee of the final offer. Compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience and the specific responsibilities of the position. Final compensation rate will be discussed and confirmed at the conclusion of the interview process.
