Full Job Description

Essential Health - Cary is recruiting a full-time registered nurse to join our growing practice. Essential Health is a well-established direct-access primary care practice specializing in anti-aging, functional and regenerative medicine. We are innovative and practice on the cutting edge of healthcare. Rather than focus on disease management, our functionally trained providers work to optimize the health of our clients using a variety of medical modalities. Our environment is low-volume, relaxed and founded upon time with our clients. We are committed to providing exceptional customer service. Essential Health is not a conventional sick-care practice.

Preference given to candidates with primary care, IV start, and phlebotomy skills. We are a close-knit team and looking for the next person to join our family. Serious candidates only please.

Position Summary:

This full-time position will work closely with our providers and staff to promote optimal health for our clients by offering excellent service, communication and encouragement. The ideal candidate will be customer-driven and health conscious, and will demonstrate a positive demeanor, good verbal and written communication skills, and a professional appearance and approach. We expect this candidate to walk the walk and lead by exemplifying the health and wellness we espouse. Candidate must have the ability to work closely with a small team and communicate with a wide variety of people in an effective manner. This full-time position requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a clinic setting.

Responsibilities:

Work as part of a team to provide quality health care to the clients.
Will be responsible for a provider's patient panel, this may include assisting with office procedures, send referrals, medication refills, prior authorizations, request medical records, performing diagnostic testing (EKG, spirometry, vision screening, fit test, cognitive testing, etc.), communicate to patients provider's orders, track when patient's are due for appointments and contacting them for follow-ups, etc.
Room patients in a timely fashion.
Check patients' vitals and record data on their electronic health records.
Document patient issues or concerns and relay to the provider.
Take medical history for new patients. Update and audit patients' health records for accuracy and thoroughness.
Patient education.
Set up and clean exam rooms.
Clean and autoclave instruments used for sterile procedures.
Observe patients for reactions to medications or treatments.
Administer subcutaneous/intramuscular injections.
Assist with placing and removing peripheral intravenous lines.
Monitor patients receiving IV infusions and administer IV pushes, per provider orders.
Collect laboratory specimens, if needed.
Transfer data and information from hard copies or directly to computer systems.
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential.
Updates and advances job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Process billing information and collect payments when required.
Perform administrative and clerical duties as required.
Possess the aptitude and initiative to be trained in any of the skills above.

Requirements:

Current RN license in the state of North Carolina or holds an active license in one of the Nurse Licensure Compact states.
Current BLS certification.
Minimum of 2 years’ nursing in a primary care or clinic setting.
Prefer minimum of 1 year previous phlebotomy experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work Tuesday – Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong Computer Skills: Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Outlook.
Knowledge of and confidence in using an electronic medical record (EMR).
