Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking qualified Site Manager to oversee the daily operations of multiple recycling facilities in Wake County. The manager will be responsible for the facility in the South Wake area. The Manager will be expected to ensure the safe and efficient operation of multi-material recycling, scrap tire operations, and weekend electronics.

Key Responsibilities:

South Wake Manager

Oversee the daily operations of the following facilities:

South Wake Multi-Material Recycling Facility
South Wake Scrap Tire Operation
Weekend Electronics Collections at Convenience Center Sites 1 and 4

General Responsibilities:

Safety and Compliance

Conduct regular safety audits and training to minimize workplace accidents.
Ensure all safety protocols are followed by staff members.
Conduct weekly site inspections to ensure compliance with County, State, and Federal regulations.
Schedule inspections and repairs to maintain operational safety and functionality of all equipment.

Staff Management and Training

Supervise, train, and manage staff to ensure proper operational procedures and excellent customer services.
Provide training and support to staff on safety procedures, operational tasks, and customer service expectations.
Fill in for site attendants as needed during staff shortages or absences.
Ensure staff adhere to all company policies and operational procedures.

Operational Oversight

Maintain clean, organized, and efficient facility operations, ensuring that all equipment and services are operational.
Address and resolve operational issues promptly and efficiently.
Document all incidents, including safety concerns or operational challenges, and follow up with necessary actions.

Communication and Coordination

Serve as the primary point of contact for County staff and other stakeholders regarding site issues, concerns, and operations.
Attend regular meetings with County staff to report on facility status and discuss operational challenges.
Maintain accurate records of operations, incidents, inspections, and staff activities. Provide required reports to the County in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

5 years of experience in facility management, operations, or a similar role.
Strong understanding of safety standards and regulations (County, State, and Federal).
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in using computer systems for documentation and reporting.
Availability to work flexible hours as needed, including weekends for specific operations.
Forklift certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform site inspections and move equipment.
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as required.
