This position plays a critical role in delivering successful live events by supporting operational readiness across warehouse and production environments.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Video Engineer – Warehouse & Show Pack Operations is responsible for the preparation, configuration, maintenance, testing, and quality control of video systems and show packages for live events and productions. This role is heavily focused on warehouse operations, including building, organizing, and maintaining complete video show packs to ensure equipment is event-ready, accurately configured, and deployed efficiently.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, highly organized, and comfortable working in fast-paced live production environments with evolving schedules and deadlines.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Video System Preparation & Show Pack Operations
- Build, configure, label, and maintain video show packs for corporate events, concerts, broadcasts, and live productions
- Prepare and test video systems including switchers, routers, converters, playback systems, LED processors, monitors, and distribution systems
- Assemble and organize road cases, flypacks, racks, and technical equipment packages according to engineering standards
- Document signal flow, configurations, and system layouts to ensure consistency across productions
- Ensure all outbound equipment is fully tested, operational, and properly packaged prior to deployment
Warehouse Operations & Quality Control
- Perform quality control inspections and functional testing on inbound and outbound video equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve video equipment, cabling, and signal flow issues
- Maintain accurate inventory organization, labeling, and cable management standards
- Support equipment check-in/check-out procedures and post-show inspections
- Maintain clean, organized, and efficient warehouse prep spaces and work areas
Technical Support & Event Operations
- Coordinate with project managers, technical leads, engineers, and warehouse staff regarding equipment requirements and show specifications
- Support occasional on-site setup, operation, troubleshooting, and strike of video systems during live events
- Assist with equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and technical system improvements
- Support operational efficiency by identifying workflow improvements and maintaining equipment readiness
NECESSARY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with professional AV, broadcast, or live event video systems
- Strong understanding of video signal flow, routing, and connectivity
- Familiarity with SDI, HDMI, NDI, fiber, converters, and video distribution systems
- Experience building and organizing technical show packages, racks, or road cases
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prep schedules simultaneously
- Ability to safely lift and move production equipment
- Comfortable working flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends as production needs require
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience working in live event production warehouses or rental environments
- Knowledge of LED wall systems, livestream systems, playback servers, and video switching workflows
- Familiarity with platforms and manufacturers such as Blackmagic, Barco, Analog Way, Christie, Ross, or Novastar
- Experience with rack building, cable fabrication, and technical system integration
- Experience supporting corporate events, touring productions, concerts, or broadcast environments
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Primarily warehouse-based with occasional on-site production support
- Fast-paced production environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines
- Frequent equipment handling, setup, teardown, and transportation
- Collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere supporting live event operations
