Pediatric PM&R Role with Duke Orthopaedics
Duke Health is seeking a talented Pediatric Physiatrist to join our faculty in Durham, North Carolina. As national leaders in research, patient care, and education, Duke Health is experiencing tremendous growth and is currently seeking a candidate with great clinical acumen to provide patients and families with high-quality, compassionate care.
The ideal candidate will be a mid-career physician with leadership potential and experience in pediatric rehabilitation medicine, demonstrating clinical excellence and a commitment to advancing patient care through innovation, teaching, and program development. This individual will play an important role in supporting the future NC Children’s Hospital and helping expand pediatric rehabilitation services across Duke Health.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive outpatient pediatric rehabilitation care for children with congenital and acquired neurologic, musculoskeletal, and developmental conditions.
- Manage patients with conditions including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular disorders, and other pediatric functional impairments.
- Collaborate closely with pediatric neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, neurology, therapy services, and multidisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Mentor and educate residents, fellows, and medical students, fostering a culture of clinical excellence and continuous learning.
- Contribute to PM&R Division leadership, clinical program growth, and strategic initiatives aligned with the development of the future NC Children’s Hospital.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine.
- 5–10 years of experience preferred, demonstrating excellence in pediatric rehabilitation care and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Proven experience in teaching, mentorship, or clinical program development within an academic medical center or children’s hospital setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
