Kitchen Manager – NC State University
About Gill Grilling
For more than 20 years, Gill Grilling has provided customized meal service to fraternities and sororities across the country. Our chefs work directly inside chapter houses, preparing fresh meals and creating menus based on each chapter’s preferences.
Our team members enjoy the creativity and personal connection of a private-chef environment without the unpredictable hours of restaurant work. We offer consistent schedules, an independent working environment, and an excellent work-life balance.
Position Overview
Are you an experienced chef who is ready to leave behind late nights, unpredictable schedules, and 80-hour workweeks?
Gill Grilling is seeking a full-time Kitchen Manager to lead the culinary operation at one of our chapter houses near NC State University. This is an ideal opportunity for a chef who enjoys creating menus, building relationships with clients, leading a small team, and taking ownership of a kitchen.
The position offers a predictable Monday–Friday schedule of approximately 45 hours per week, with no late-night restaurant shifts. Because this is an academic-year position, employees also enjoy extended time away from work during university breaks and summers.
As the Kitchen Manager, you will serve as the location’s lead chef and supervise the other team members assigned to the chapter. You will have the freedom to personalize menus, respond to member feedback, and create a dining experience the chapter looks forward to every day.
Responsibilities

- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional kitchen
- Ensure compliance with food-safety and sanitation standards
- Accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies safely
- Handle last-minute requests calmly and professionally
