About AVMAC LLC:

AVMAC’s corporate staff and leadership team employ many with similar backgrounds and experience, which makes it a highly knowledgeable force multiplier to their customer base. The company prides itself on hiring, recruiting and training veterans as it continues to serve the Department of Defense and the Department of Transportation Homeland Security and commercial customers nationwide.

Position Summary: The Tool Room Custodian is responsible for the organization, control, distribution, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and supplies to support maintenance, and operational activities. This position ensures that tools are properly stored, inventoried, inspected, and available when needed while maintaining accurate records of tool issuance, returns, repairs, and replacements. The Tool Room Custodian supports a safe and efficient work environment by enforcing tool accountability procedures, monitoring inventory levels, and coordinating tool calibration, maintenance, and procurement activities as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Receive, store, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies and equipment, such as measuring devices, in an industrial establishment.
Responsible for accurate record keeping of tools issued to and returned by workers, searches for lost or misplaced tools, prepares periodic inventory or keeps perpetual inventory and requisitions stock as needed, unpacks and stores new equipment
Visually inspects tools or measures with micrometer for wear or defects and reports damaged or worn- out equipment to superiors; may coat tools with grease or other preservative, using a brush or spray gun, and may attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment using electric marking tool.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:

High school diploma or GED required.
Vocational training in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, logistics, or inventory management preferred but not required.
1–2 years of experience in:
- Tool crib/tool room operations.
- Inventory control or warehouse functions.
Basic recordkeeping and data entry skills.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 15–50 lbs.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
Able to work in warehouse, shop, or industrial environments.
