Maintenance Technician – Luxury & Affordable Communities

$30–$38/hour | Full-Time | Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro

We are looking for a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our team and support multiple luxury and affordable apartment communities throughout the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. This is a great opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and wants the independence and flexibility that comes with being a trusted member of a property management team.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play an important role in keeping our communities safe, comfortable, and running smoothly. You will work directly with residents and property teams to address maintenance needs, complete repairs, and help maintain the overall quality and appearance of the properties. No two days are exactly the same, making this a great position for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, hands-on work, and taking ownership of their responsibilities.

What You'll Do

Complete daily resident work orders and maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
Troubleshoot and repair a variety of residential maintenance issues
Perform preventative maintenance throughout apartment buildings and common areas
Assist with apartment turns and prepare units for new residents
Perform basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, painting, and appliance repairs
Inspect vacant units and common areas to identify maintenance needs
Help maintain building systems, mechanical rooms, grounds, and shared amenities
Respond to emergency maintenance situations when needed
Communicate professionally with residents and provide excellent customer service
Maintain accurate records of completed work orders and preventative maintenance
Coordinate with vendors and contractors when specialized repairs are required
Keep maintenance areas, tools, and workspaces organized and safe
Support the property management team with additional maintenance needs as they arise
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule

What We're Looking For

2+ years of residential maintenance experience, preferably within multifamily housing
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, painting, and appliance repair
HVAC certification, CPO certification, or Boiler certification preferred, but not required
Additional maintenance certifications or trade training are a plus
Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
Ability to prioritize multiple work orders and respond appropriately to urgent requests
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Ability to successfully pass a Kari Koskinen background check
