Locations: Walnut and Monrovia, CA
Job Type: Part-Time / Full-Time (open availability required)
Pay: $20–$21/hour + shared tips

About Us

We are a growing Korean fast-casual restaurant serving rice bowls, Korean fried chicken, and other Korean-inspired favorites. We take pride in serving high-quality food, providing great customer service, and creating a positive experience for both our guests and our team.

We are looking for a dependable, experienced Shift Leader who can lead by example and help keep our restaurant running smoothly during every shift.

About the Role

As a Shift Leader, you will help oversee daily restaurant operations while working alongside the team. You will be responsible for maintaining our standards for food quality, cleanliness, customer service, and overall shift execution.

This is a hands-on leadership position. The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable leading a team while also jumping in to prep, cook, serve customers, and help wherever needed.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of kitchen experience and 1 year of leadership experience in a kitchen environment.

ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership

Lead, motivate, and support the team during each shift
Delegate tasks and ensure employees stay productive and on task
Train and coach employees according to company standards
Provide feedback and communicate performance or employee concerns to management
Lead by example and maintain a positive, professional work environment

Restaurant Operations

Oversee daily opening and closing procedures
Ensure the restaurant is properly staffed, organized, and prepared for service
Assist with kitchen prep and cooking and cover stations or breaks as needed
Monitor food quality, consistency, portioning, and presentation
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards throughout the shift
Help reduce food waste and ensure proper food handling and storage
Assist with inventory management and ordering as needed

Customer Service

Provide friendly, efficient customer service
Address guest questions and concerns professionally
Resolve customer issues when appropriate and communicate significant concerns to management

Catering & Large Orders

Ensure large and catering orders are prepared accurately and on time
Confirm that all necessary food, ingredients, packaging, and catering supplies are available
Coordinate with management regarding large orders and any potential issues

Communication

Communicate operational issues, employee concerns, and important shift information to the General Manager and Assistant Manager
Provide clear handoff information to the next shift
Ensure important tasks and responsibilities are completed before the end of the shift

This list is not exhaustive. Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the restaurant.

Requirements

At least 3 years of restaurant kitchen experience
At least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience
Strong communication and organizational skills
Reliable and dependable
Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable giving direction and holding team members accountable
Able to work flexible hours, including weekends
Reliable transportation and ability to commute to work consistently
Able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
Able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work on your feet for the duration of a shift
