POSITION SUMMARY
Beeson Hardware & Lumber is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Business Development Install Manager to develop, sell and manage our growing turnkey installed-sales business throughout the Piedmont Triad.
This unique position combines outside sales, business development, estimating, installer/subcontractor sourcing, project management and customer relationship management.
The Business Development Install Manager will identify sales opportunities, develop customer relationships, sell complete material-and-installation projects, identify and secure qualified installers, and manage each sold project through successful completion.
THIS IS NOT AN INSTALLER POSITION.
The Business Development Install Manager does not perform routine physical installation, construction or manual labor. The Manager is responsible for finding, qualifying, securing, coordinating and managing the qualified installers/subcontractors who perform the actual installation work.
The ideal candidate understands both sides of the business: how to sell construction and building-material projects and how to successfully manage the professionals responsible for installing them.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & INSTALLED SALES
The Business Development Install Manager will:
· Identify, prospect and develop new installed-sales opportunities throughout the Piedmont Triad.
· Build relationships with general contractors, home builders, remodelers, developers, property managers, commercial customers, and existing Beeson customers.
· Conduct outside sales calls, contractor meetings, customer consultations and jobsite visits.
· Sell complete building materials + professional installation solutions.
· Develop estimates, proposals, project scopes and customer presentations.
· Negotiate and close business within established company authority.
· Maintain a qualified sales pipeline and aggressively pursue new revenue opportunities.
· Expand existing customer relationships through cross-selling and turnkey installation services.
· Meet or exceed established sales, gross-profit, margin and new-account objectives.
Installed-sales categories may include:
Lumber Framing Engineered Wood Products Doors Windows Millwork Trim Decking Railing Siding Exterior Building Products Specialty Building Materials Other Beeson-Approved Products
Candidates should possess extensive knowledge of lumber and building materials and strong technical knowledge of doors, windows, millwork and related installation requirements.
INSTALLER SOURCING & MANAGEMENT
A major responsibility of this position is developing and managing a strong network of qualified installers and subcontractors.
The Manager will:
· Identify and recruit qualified installers/subcontractors.
· Evaluate installer experience, capabilities, quality and pricing.
· Verify required licenses, credentials, insurance, workers’ compensation documentation and manufacturer certifications, as applicable.
· Ensure required Beeson approvals and agreements are completed before assignment.
· Obtain and manage competitive installation pricing.
· Match installers with appropriate projects.
· Communicate project scope and expectations.
· Coordinate scheduling between customers, Beeson and installers.
· Monitor installer quality, professionalism, schedule and customer service.
· Manage deficiencies, punch lists, callbacks and corrective work.
· Evaluate installer performance and recommend continued use based upon results.
The Business Development Install Manager manages the installer—the Manager does not serve as the installer.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
After selling the project and securing an approved installer, the Business Development Install Manager manages the project from contract through completion.
Responsibilities include:
· Scope and preconstruction review
· Estimating and job costing
· Material procurement coordination

· Change-order management
· Problem resolution
· Punch-list completion
· Warranty coordination
· Customer acceptance and project closeout
The Manager serves as the primary Beeson contact for the customer and primary Beeson management contact for the installer.

Legal, licensing, engineering, architectural or specialized technical questions outside the Manager’s authority must be escalated to Beeson management and/or the appropriate qualified professional.
SAFETY & QUALITY
The Manager provides management-level oversight—not hands-on installation labor—to help ensure sold projects are completed according to approved scope, applicable requirements, manufacturer specifications and Beeson quality expectations.
Safety concerns must be promptly addressed and escalated. The Manager has authority to stop or suspend work presenting an imminent or unacceptable safety risk in accordance with company procedures.
Quality deficiencies must be documented and appropriately corrected by the responsible installer before project closeout.
