About the Role

Are you passionate about tech, love working with kids, and want real-world teaching experience that looks great on your resume?

As an Instructor at iCode Chatham, you won’t just be coding—you’ll be coaching, mentoring, and inspiring the next generation of tech innovators (ages 6–14). We deliver hands-on coding, robotics, and game design programs that combine serious tech skills with a seriously fun experience. You'll join a mission-driven startup backed by a national franchise, working in an environment that values creativity, leadership, and mentorship.

This is not your average tutoring job. You’ll get to teach, create, lead, and innovate—all while having a real impact.

What You’ll Do

Teach iCode’s structured belt curriculum using platforms like Scratch, Python, JavaScript, Unreal Engine, Construct 3, and VEX robotics
Guide students through coding, robotics, and game development projects in an engaging and encouraging environment
Lead hands-on classroom sessions that are fun, collaborative, and structured
Adapt lessons for a variety of skill levels (K–12) while managing classroom energy and expectations
Help students unlock their potential through regular feedback, tracking progress, and celebrating milestones
Communicate with parents about student progress and ensure a positive, supportive learning experience
Collaborate with other instructors and campus leadership to deliver the best student outcomes

Who You Are

Must-Haves

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM field (Freshman–Senior). Students in other disciplines may apply if they posses strong inclination for coding and robotics.
Strong working knowledge of one or more of the following: Scratch, HTML/CSS, Python, JavaScript, Alice, or Unity
Comfortable with Windows OS systems and basic troubleshooting
Able to work evenings and/or weekends
School Year: 3–7 PM on weekdays, Saturdays 9:30 AM–3:30 PM
Summer & School Breaks: 8:30 AM–3:30 PM
Strong communication and interpersonal skills—especially with kids and parents
Team player who brings positive energy and accountability
Reliable, punctual, and professional in your presentation and communication

Bonus If You Have

Experience in game design (Construct 3, Unreal Engine, GameMaker, Unity)
Previous leadership in a high school or college STEAM club
Background in mentoring, teaching, or customer service
Familiarity with Agile thinking or a startup mindset
