Full-Time Remodeling Carpenter / Craftsman
Black Hills Remodel and Repair, LLC
Rapid City, SD
Pay: $16–$28 per hour, depending on verified experience and skill level
Job Overview
Black Hills Remodel and Repair, LLC is seeking a dependable, skilled, and detail-oriented Remodeling Carpenter / Craftsman to join our team full-time. We specialize in residential remodeling and repair projects throughout Rapid City and the surrounding Black Hills area.
Our projects vary in size and scope, so the ideal candidate is versatile, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is comfortable performing a range of carpentry, remodeling, repair, and finishing tasks. You will work both independently and alongside other team members to improve, repair, and transform our clients’ homes.
Because we work in occupied residences, technical ability is only part of the job. We expect every team member to communicate professionally, arrive prepared and on time, protect the client’s property, maintain an orderly work area, and treat customers, coworkers, and subcontractors with respect.
Compensation
Starting pay is $16–$28 per hour, depending on demonstrated experience, skill level, reliability, and ability to complete work independently.
Applicants are not expected to be experts in every trade. Compensation and responsibilities will be based on the skills and experience each candidate brings to the position.

- Complete interior and exterior painting and surface-preparation work as required.
- Install flooring, siding, tile, and other finish materials according to manufacturer requirements and accepted construction practices.
- Perform residential repair and restoration work, including demolition, water-damage reconstruction, and replacement of damaged building materials.
- Complete minor fixture, accessory, and finish-hardware installations that are within the employee’s qualifications and the company’s permitted scope of work.
- Identify job-site problems and communicate potential changes, additional work, safety concerns, or material needs to the project lead or company owner.
- Estimate basic material quantities and help plan the sequence and time required for assigned tasks.
- Safely operate hand tools, portable power tools, ladders, and woodworking equipment.
- Load, unload, move, and organize tools and construction materials safely.
- Maintain, organize, and bring a functional set of personal hand tools appropriate for the position. Larger and specialty power tools will generally be provided by the company.
- Protect floors, furnishings, landscaping, and other areas of the client’s property before and during construction.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site, including performing daily cleanup and properly storing tools and materials.
- Follow company procedures, job-site rules, manufacturer instructions, and applicable safety requirements.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with clients, coworkers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project participants.
- Assist and support other team members when needed to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Represent Black Hills Remodel and Repair, LLC professionally at all times.
