Full Job Description

***This is an AbilityOne Program position preference for individual's with disabilities. ***

Full Time and Part Time employment opportunities available

Wage: $17.75

Hours: Primarily working Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00am and 3:30pm.

General Description of the Position:

Perform general mail duties such as receiving, sorting, transporting, delivering, maintenance, and other duties related to mail services at the Official Mail and Postal Service Centers on Ellsworth Air Force Base (EAFB).

Qualifications:

High School Diploma
Must be able to pass required criminal background and drug test
Possess a current valid driver’s license
Previous customer service experience preferred
Physically able to walk for long periods; including outside on walkways, sidewalks, etc.
Ability to lift 30-50lbs, with assistance as needed

Responsibilities:

Ability to operate a small-scale postage meter machine
Possess basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office, e-mail, and like applications.
Verify that the most cost effective postage for the government is applied to outgoing mail
Determine classes of mail and amount of postage to apply using a meter machine.
Verify outgoing mail from assigned units on EAFB is addressed correctly and meets the guidelines outlined by the USPS.
Operate a small delivery van to make daily mail deliveries to base organizations and dormitory residents.
Maintain confidentiality at all times
Provide excellent customer service to include both face to face and telephone interactions.
Prepare and execute official mail documentation as assigned. Maintain log of incoming and outgoing accountable mail.
Complete filing of official mail documents as assigned.
Inspect incoming mail for potentially hazardous or harassment material
Ability to learn the different units on EAFB by name and acronym as well as their street addresses.
Perform housekeeping duties to include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and bathroom duties as assigned.
Assist with the upkeep of the delivery vehicle assuring it is clean and maintenance is completed as needed
Perform minimal maintenance on assigned mail center equipment and resources as needed
Complete snow removal as assigned for each respective building.
