About the Practice
Dr. Lycia Thornburg, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist, national speaker, and author redefining patient-centered care in cosmetic and medical dermatology. With over 20 years of experience, she blends cutting-edge science with a holistic, ethical, and safety-first approach to aesthetics.
The Doctor is a nationally recognized expert who serves on advisory boards for leading skincare and aesthetics companies, speaks at industry conferences, and appears regularly in national and local media. Her expertise has been featured in Better Homes & Gardens, NewBeauty, Byrdie, and recurring television segments. She also serves as a national media expert for the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD).
Position Overview
We are hiring multiple roles as part of our founding team and encourage applications from individuals with experience in the following areas:
- Unlicensed Medical Scribe
The ideal candidate is adaptable, professional, detail-oriented, and aligned with a high-touch, luxury patient experience. Roles and responsibilities will be tailored based on training, licensure, and experience.
Unlicensed Medical Scribe
- Documentation & EMR Management
- Accurately document patient histories, physical examination findings, assessments, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions as dictated by the provider.
Provider Support
- Accompany providers during patient encounters and accurately capture details of each visit.
- Retrieve laboratory results, pathology reports, imaging reports, and prior records for provider review.
- Assist with tracking referrals, follow-up appointments, and documentation requests.
- Maintain provider schedules by assisting with workflow efficiency and patient flow.
Administrative Support
- Prepare encounter templates and documentation forms.
- Assist with scanning, filing, and maintaining patient records.
- Communicate professionally with patients and team members regarding administrative matters.
- Support clinic operations as assigned while remaining within scope of role.
Dermatology-Specific Responsibilities
- Document skin examinations and dermatologic findings using appropriate anatomical terminology.
- Record lesion locations, measurements, treatment plans, and procedure details as dictated by the provider.
- Document dermatologic procedures including biopsies, cryotherapy, excisions, laser treatments, cosmetic procedures, and other services performed by the provider.
- Assist in maintaining accurate photographic documentation records when applicable.
- Become familiar with common dermatologic diagnoses, treatments, medications, and terminology.
- Enter information into the EMR during patient visits in a timely and organized manner.
- Document diagnoses, procedures, medications, orders, and patient education as directed by the provider.
- Review charts for completeness and ensure documentation supports billing and coding requirements.
- Assist with preparation and organization of patient records prior to clinic visits.
