Do you enjoy working with youth and spending time outdoors? The Club for Boys is seeking a Youth Activities Director – Outdoor to lead engaging, nature-based programs that help boys build confidence, develop skills, and discover lifelong interests.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring youth while participating in outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and other recreational programs.
Position Overview
The Youth Activities Director – Outdoor provides boys with engaging, age-appropriate outdoor experiences that build skills, spark curiosity, and encourage lifelong interests. The Director plans and leads a variety of nature-based activities, ensures high standards of safety and supervision, supports positive member engagement, and manages daily program operations to deliver a high-quality outdoor program.
Schedule
- Full-time position
- Monday – Friday
- Daytime hours during the summer
- Afternoon and evening hours during the school year
- Occasional overnight and weekend work required
Compensation
- Starting pay: $16.50 – $18.50 per hour, depending on education and experience
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead outdoor recreation and nature-based activities for youth
- Create engaging experiences that promote curiosity, teamwork, and personal growth
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all participants
- Supervise youth during all activities and outings
- Manage daily program operations, staff coordination, and resources
- Foster positive relationships with members and families
- Support the mission and values of The Club for Boys
Qualifications
- Education or experience in outdoor education, recreation, or science education preferred
- Minimum one year experience working with youth
- Valid driver’s license
- Broad knowledge of outdoor sports and activities
- Ability to physically participate in activities such as hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and other outdoor recreation
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
