Tool & Mold Maker/Machinist/CNC Programmer

Established Berks County Investment Casting facility has immediate need for a Tool & Mold Maker/Machinist/CNC Programmer.

Responsibilities:

Make, repair or modify molds, fixtures and gauges.
Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
Creates instructions for machining parts.
Reviews design blueprints.
Communicates with operators.
Checks completed programs.
Chooses cutting tools that will be needed.
Writes programs and modifies existing ones for increased efficiency.
Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and materials.
Set up of CNC Mills/Lathes.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED.
Experience with machine shop floor practices.
Three to five years of tight tolerance tool making experience.
Ability to program, set-up and run CNC equipment.
Experience with programming using MasterCam.
Capable of using standard tools and measurement devices (GD&T) such as micrometers, scales, rulers, depth gauges and calipers.
Ability to interpret safety instructions, job orders, blueprints, quality specifications, and other related documents.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong math and mechanical reasoning skills.
Ability to contribute as part of a team.
Good close vision and depth perception skills.
Positive attitude, good judgment and excellent time management skills.
Strong sense of responsibility and ownership, capable of managing multiple duties and following through on tasks.
Attention to detail.
Able to work from concept sketches to final product.
