Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Learning Support Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. In this role, you will play a vital part in fostering an inclusive, supportive environment that empowers students with diverse learning needs. Your expertise will help tailor instructional strategies, develop individualized plans, and collaborate closely with colleagues and families to ensure every student achieves their full potential. Duties

Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique abilities and goals, ensuring compliance with educational laws and regulations.
Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction across core subjects such as literacy, math, and social-emotional skills, utilizing innovative educational technology tools.
Provide specialized support for students with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, visual impairments, hearing impairments, or other disabilities through personalized teaching methods and accommodations.
Incorporate speech therapy techniques, behavioral therapy strategies, music therapy, or recreational therapy as appropriate to support holistic student development.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, counselors, and parents to develop effective instructional modifications and behavior management plans that promote positive learning experiences.
Monitor student progress regularly through assessments and standardized testing; adjust instructional approaches accordingly to maximize learning outcomes.
Engage in ongoing professional development related to special education law, curriculum development, early intervention practices, and instructional design to stay current with best practices.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; advanced certifications or licenses in special education are highly preferred.
Proven experience working with children with disabilities in classroom or therapeutic settings; experience with early childhood education is advantageous.
Strong knowledge of special education law (such as IDEA), IEP development, and educational compliance standards.
Proficiency in using learning technology and educational software to enhance instruction and student engagement.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and parent communication; ability to clearly convey instructional strategies and student progress.
Demonstrated classroom management skills combined with behavior management techniques tailored for students with special needs.
Familiarity with applied behavior analysis (ABA), speech therapy strategies, visual impairment education, deaf education, and other specialized interventions is desirable.
Passion for fostering inclusive environments that support the social-emotional well-being of all students.
