Position Summary:
A Mail Clerk is responsible for receiving, sorting and delivering mail and packages. It is expected that a mail clerk will carry out these responsibilities with an attention to accuracy, efficiency, and customer service.
This is an onsite position Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm at our Corporate Headquarters in Reading, PA.
Major Responsibilities:
- Responsible for picking up, sorting, and delivering mail.
- Lifting and moving boxes and packages.
- Run postage meter machine.
- Prepare packages for courier services.
- Deliver mail to Penske locations.
- Audit and approve courier invoices.
- Administrative duties related to the tracking of intercompany correspondence.
- Assist Penske associates with their mailing and shipping needs.
- Other varied duties typical of a corporate mail center.
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Driver’s license required.
- Proficiency in use of a computer, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Ability to learn new software programs, including web based shipping applications.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lb packages or freight boxes.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
