Full Job Description

Additionally, the system provides a wide range of healthcare services, such as Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing, home healthcare via Tower Health at Home, TowerDirect ambulance and emergency response, Tower Health Medical Group, Tower Health Providers (a clinically integrated network), and Tower Health Urgent Care facilities across its service area.

The Cytotechnologist:

Performs microscopic examinations.
Provides final interpretations of normal gynecological specimens.
Provides initial interpretations of non-gynecological, FNA and abnormal gynecological specimens using standardized procedures.
Assists in the collection and preparation of FNA and biopsy specimens for immediate evaluation; understanding method principles; performing quality control and quality assurance activities and evaluating results based on patient demographics and history.
Works independently, organizes work to meet established deadlines and validates all data obtained.

Education Requirements

4 year/Bachelor's Degree
Graduate of a Cytotechnology Program

Certification and Licensure

CT (Cytologist) ASCP certified or eligible (must be obtained within one year of hire)
