JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial HVAC Estimator and system designer to join our growing team.

As an HVAC Project Designer, you will play a crucial role in designing efficient and effective heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for various projects. You will collaborate with engineers, architects, and clients to develop innovative solutions that meet project specifications and customers’ needs.

The Commercial HVAC Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for commercial HVAC projects, including new installations, replacements, and retrofits. This role involves reviewing project specifications, conducting site visits, and working closely with engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure accurate and competitive bids.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop detailed HVAC system designs, including load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork layouts, and piping schematics.
Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure designs align with project goals and client expectations.
Prepare and review technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
Conduct site assessments and analyze existing systems to recommend upgrades or modifications.
Stay current with industry trends, codes, and regulations to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning phases of projects.
Assist in project budgeting and scheduling to ensure timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare cost estimates for commercial HVAC and/or refrigeration systems.
Maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing for materials and services.
Monitor project budgets and update estimates as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks associated with projects and develop strategies to mitigate them
Continuous Improvement: Participate in post-project evaluations to assess estimating accuracy and identify areas for improvement in future bids.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial hvac/refrigeration industry.
Proven experience in HVAC design, preferably in a commercial setting.
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, load calculation software or similar tools.
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, equipment, and energy efficiency principles
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, components, and installation methods.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, teams, etc.).
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
