POSITION: Medical Administrative Assistant to the Chief Medical Officer

POSITION OUTLINE:
Physical requirements: An eligible candidate must possess the ability:
- Sit for extended periods of time.

- Must be able to use office equipment including fax, multi-line telephone and copy machine.
- Is able to understand, be sensitive to, communicate with, and has knowledge/awareness of the culture of the Indian community to be served.
- Display a high level of attention to detail.
General Qualifications:
- An Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree (preferred).
- Be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
- Worked in the Administrative field for at least 5 years.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, computer security periodicals, and governmental regulations.
- Reliable employment history.
- Demonstrate competence in reacting to and handling emergencies.
- Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Acute attention to detail.
- Strong documentation skills, and advanced organizational skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Requires discretion, confidentiality, resourcefulness, and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
- Current CPR Certification.
- This position requires an awareness and keen appreciation of American Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs and the ability at all-times to meet and deal effectively in contact with Indian Health organizations which require tact, courtesy, discretions, resourcefulness, and good judgement in handling functions of a sensitive nature.
- Must demonstrate intercultural knowledge working with intertribal Native American people, culture, traditions, customs, and beliefs.
Experience:
- 3-5 years administrative experience (Required)
- 2-3 years medical experience and knowledge (Required)
- Must have current state issued certified medical assisting certification (Required)
