Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sous Chef / Banquet Cook to join our culinary team. In this vital role, you will oversee the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes for banquet events and fine dining experiences. Your leadership will ensure that all food production meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise, manage kitchen operations, and contribute to memorable guest experiences through exceptional food service. Responsibilities

Manage Event Service in the absence of the Executive Chef
Understand employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees' absence or determine appropriate replacement to fill gaps.
Utilizes interpersonal communication skills to lead and influence the kitchen staff.
Ensures compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
Follows proper handling and storage at the right temperature for all food products.
Ensures all equipment in the kitchen is properly cleaned and maintained in working order in accordance with the local Health Department.
Ensure all products are prepared invariably and meet appearance/quality standards.
Practices proper grooming and hygiene standards.
Practices proper receiving and food storage standards in the kitchen.
Maintains Quality levels of receiving, storage, production, and presentation of food.
Follows and enforces all applicable safety procedures specified for kitchen and food servers.

Skills

Extensive banquet experience with a strong understanding of catering logistics and event timing
Proven supervising experience in a busy kitchen or hospitality setting
Knowledge of dietary restrictions, allergy management, and special diet accommodations in a culinary context
Expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management best practices
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse culinary team
Experience in fine dining environments with an emphasis on presentation quality
Skilled in inventory management, cost control, and food service management principles
Familiarity with food safety standards such as HACCP or ServSafe certification preferred
Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent communication skills for effective team coordination and customer interaction
