Our front office team is the heartbeat of our practice, ensuring our patients receive seamless support from the moment they check in to the finalization of their billing.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Dental Front Office Insurance Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be the practice’s primary expert on dental insurance, responsible for verifying benefits, submitting claims, and helping patients maximize their coverage. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of dental billing practices, excellent organizational skills, and a warm, customer-service-driven personality.

Key Responsibilities

Insurance Verification: Break down, verify, and input accurate insurance eligibility and benefits into our practice management software prior to patient appointments.
Claims Management: Prepare, submit, and track all electronic and paper dental insurance claims, including attaching necessary digital X-rays and narratives.
Accounts Receivable: Review and follow up on aging insurance claims, manage denials, and appeal claims when necessary to ensure timely reimbursement.
Patient Financial Counseling: Clear up complex insurance jargon for patients, presenting treatment plans and accurately estimating their out-of-pocket copays.
Front Office Support: Assist with answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow at the front desk when needed.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience specifically handling dental insurance verification and billing in a dental practice setting.
Software: Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Open Dental) is highly preferred.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of ADA dental codes, dental terminology, and the differences between HMO, PPO, and Medicaid/Denti-Cal structures.
Skills: Excellent mathematical and analytical abilities for tracking ledgers and calculating patient copays.
Communication: Outstanding interpersonal skills with a polite and professional phone etiquette.
Attributes: A high degree of organization, strong multitasking abilities, and a collaborative team-player mindset.
