Position: Facilities Maintenance Technician
Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Program Manager
Role Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing the Pathways to Housing facility's upkeep. The Facilities Maintenance Technician shall provide a safe, comfortable, clean, and functioning environment in which the clients will continue their medical recovery. They will be responsible for maintenance, upkeep of premises, yard work, and overall functionality of the facility and purchasing of supplies.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions

1. Uphold and enforce the agency’s standards, policies and procedures, code of conduct, and rights of people served
2. Mitigate any client issues that arise in partnership with other staff as needed
3. Responsible for overall upkeep, organization, maintenance and cleanliness of facility, landscaping, and company vehicles
4. Conduct weekly inspections of the facility to ensure maintenance needs
5. Perform general repairs and improvements to facilities
6. Inventory, track, and purchase materials, equipment, and supplies with Executive Director approval.
7. Maintain and repair appliances throughout facility
8. Operate with intention of staying within project budgets
9. Report all health and safety hazards and facility and/or vehicle maintenance/repair problems to the Executive Director and/or Program Manager.
10. Maintain supply purchase logbook and spreadsheet
11. Ensure safety of clients and staff daily
12. Adhere to OSHA and all safety standards
13. Maintain safety binder including up to date SDS sheets & training
14. Assist with delivery of meals to scattered sites as needed
15. Shop for supplies
16. Pick up & deliver donations
17. Maintain facility donation and purchase tracking spreadsheet
18. Obtain bids and schedule projects as needed
19. Be willing to cover Care Coordinator shifts as needed
20. Conduct monthly safety trainings
21. Provide daily report to management via email.
22. All shifts require staff to stay awake and alert throughout the entire shift.
23. Additional duties as assigned
Skills
- Remain up to date with agency policies and procedures for staff, clients and operations
- Remain up to date with OSHA and other environmental regulations
- Maintain knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management

- Ability to build and maintain direct relationships with outside agencies/vendors
- Ability to represent Pathways with dignity and respect
Qualifications
- Possess a valid California Driver’s License and 5-year acceptable driving record
- Possess CPR/First Aid Certification
- Possess Food Handlers Safety Card
Required Education and Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education and Experience
· Building management or related experience
· Landscaping maintenance or related experience
Work Environment
This job typically operates in a variety of conditions at the employer’s location. The employee must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures outside, as well as within the building. The noise level may be moderate at times.
Physical Demands
This is a moderate physical position that will require bending, stooping, stretching, twisting, reaching, pulling and regularly lifting up to 40 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds, use of hands to grasp, move or assemble objects, wrist bending, use of equipment and materials and dealing with the outside elements. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. This position will also require sitting, movements required for use of a computer including typing, speaking to others, and hearing.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position for up to 40 hours a week, typically Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm. Weekends, overtime, and on-call duties may be required as needed. Flexibility is an important part of the job.
Travel
Any required travel is primarily local. Company provides the required transportation vehicle. Travel expenses will be reimbursed at the current standard mileage rate reimbursement.
