Travel Requirement: Moderate travel (20–40%) required, primarily within state/region.

Position Summary
The Director of Operations (DO) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of assigned clinics and ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality services across programs, including Crisis Stabilization. This role provides leadership, direction, and support to Operations Coordinator (OC), Operations Manager (OM), Clinical Supervisors (CS), and Assistant Clinical Supervisors (aCS) to ensure operational excellence, compliance, staff performance, and client outcomes. The DO plays a critical role in aligning regional operations with company-wide initiatives, driving performance metrics, and fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Essential Functions
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily operations across assigned locations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and service quality
- Ensure proper implementation of operational systems (e.g., scheduling, timekeeping, billing coordination in CentralReach and Gusto)
- Monitor and support the conversion of shifts, accuracy of timekeeping, and alignment between systems
- Maintain operational readiness, including staffing, scheduling coverage, and service delivery continuity
- Availability to support operations outside of standard business hours when necessary
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Staff Management & Development
- Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management for CSs, aCSs, OMs, OCs, and operational staff
- Support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention of staff in collaboration with HR
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement improvement plans as needed
- Promote staff development through training, mentorship programs, and leadership opportunities
Program Oversight
- Ensure fidelity and effectiveness of Crisis Stabilization and related services
- Collaborate with Clinical Supervisors and BCBAs to support client success and appropriate service delivery
- Monitor service utilization, client authorizations, and ensure alignment with approved services
- Collaborate with regional center partners (e.g., stakeholders, providers, families)
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and payer guidelines
- Oversee documentation standards, audit readiness, and billing accuracy
- Address and resolve operational or compliance concerns in a timely and professional manner
Strategic & Financial Oversight
- Support the execution of company initiatives, including Balanced Scorecard objectives
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as billable hours, staffing ratios, and service efficiency
- Identify operational challenges and implement solutions to improve performance and outcomes
Communication & Culture
- Foster a positive, professional, and accountable work environment
- Ensure clear, consistent communication across teams and leadership levels
- Address staff concerns appropriately and promote open, solution-focused dialogue
- Model and uphold ACS professionalism standards in all interactions
- Maintain dependable and regular attendance, including availability to work scheduled hours, attend required meetings, and meet the operational needs of the clinic.
Required Education/Professional Certifications
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree, preferably relating to applied behavior analysis, organizational leadership, and other similar fields of study
- Certified in PMO
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification (or obtained within 1 month of hire)
Preferred Education/Professional Certifications
- Professional Crisis Management (PCM) (Practitioner 2(P) Status) and Ukeru certified
- Master’s Degree relating to applied behavior analysis, organizational leadership, and other similar fields of study
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.

- Background checks will be conducted in compliance with the California Fair Chance Act, including individualized assessment, notice, and opportunity to respond where required.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with driving record meeting company insurance carrier, fleet eligibility standards and proof of insurance.
- Required certifications will be provided and compensated in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws. Certification status may impact an employee’s ability to work in client homes. (i.e., CPR, PCM, Ukeru, PMO, etc.)
- Must have access to reliable transportation for consistent travel.
- Ability to travel between clinic locations as needed
- Regularly use electronic devices such as phones, computers, tablets, or other screens.
- Comply with company dress, hygiene, and professional presentation standards consistent with client safety and workplace professionalism.
Preferred Experience
- Experience attending clinical-level IDT meetings.
- Experience understanding the residential systems and operations for developmentally disabled.
- Ability to deliver aversive information to clients, providers, and parents.
- Experience with the ABA software system Central Reach.
- Strong knowledge of staff management, scheduling, and operational systems
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage performance, and drive results
- Ability to provide behavioral information to higher level clinicians and administrators.
- Experience creating and implementing reward and motivational programs.
- Specific technical skills - Google Workspace; Data analysis/reporting tools (Excel, Google Sheets); Electronic Medical Records Software

Working Conditions / Physical Demands
This position is primarily office-based, with approximately 85% of time spent in a sedentary work environment. The role involves frequent sitting, typing, and use of standard office equipment, along with occasional standing and walking throughout the workday.
The employee may occasionally be required to lift or carry items up to 20 lbs. (such as files, office supplies, or equipment). More strenuous physical activities, such as lifting over 50 lbs., climbing, crawling, or kneeling, are not typical for this role but may occur infrequently in limited circumstances.
