Full Job Description

Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) is a growing Colorado manufacturer who specializes in manufacturing and installation of custom electrical/mechanical machinery in the packaging industry. We are looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team and support the installation of conveyance systems. This position is ideal for someone with strong electrical skills who enjoys hands-on work, troubleshooting, and traveling throughout North America (some international). Length of travel is based upon the job assignment but may be anywhere from a few days to several weeks at a time.

Responsibilities:

Millwright experience including rigging experience.
Install and wire electrical systems for conveyance equipment.
Install and connect motors, sensors, control panels, VFDs, photo eyes, switches, and other electrical components.
Must be able to bend conduit and pull homerun and control cables through conduit or clean tray.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment drawings.
Perform equipment testing, and adjustments as needed.
Must be able to install conveyor mechanically and do what is needed to best support project demands.
Perform light fabrication as needed.
Identify and resolve installation issues in a safe and efficient manner.
Provide professional service and technical support at customer facilities.
Complete service reports and document work performed.
Valid driver’s license and successful background check.

Qualifications:

Electrical installation or industrial electrical experience preferred.
Experience working with conveyors, material-handling equipment, or industrial machinery is a plus.
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Knowledge of industrial controls, motors, sensors, and VFDs.
Preferred working knowledge of RS Logic 500, 5000, Studio 5000, and view studio.
Preferred knowledge of Allen Bradley and Rockwell software.
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
Good communications and customer service skills.
Ability and desire to travel to customer locations throughout North America (up to 99% of the time) as jobs require.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Successful background check.
Forklift certification required.
Passport or ability to obtain a passport will be required.
Applicants must be Colorado residents.

Physical Demands:

Safety glasses must be always worn
Steel or composite shoes must be worn, hard hats, bump caps when required by plant
Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds
Must have ability to sit, walk and stand for a period up to 12 hours per day
Must have ability to bend, kneel, squat, crouch, climb or balance occasionally throughout the day
