Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) – In-Person, Clinic-BasedJob Summary

Advanced Behavioral Specialists is seeking a dedicated and experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our in-person, clinic-based team in Riverside, California.

The BCBA will oversee the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of individualized ABA treatment programs for children with autism and other developmental disabilities. This role includes conducting assessments, developing treatment and behavior intervention plans, supervising Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and mid-level clinical staff, reviewing clinical data, providing caregiver training, and ensuring that clients receive high-quality, ethical, and evidence-based care.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, leadership, communication, and analytical skills. We are seeking a collaborative professional who can effectively mentor clinical staff, support treatment integrity, and work closely with clients, families, and team members in a structured and supportive clinic environment.

This is a fully in-person, clinic-based position.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct initial and ongoing behavioral assessments, including Functional Behavior Assessments and skills-based assessments.
Develop individualized treatment plans and Behavior Intervention Plans based on assessment findings, clinical observations, caregiver input, and client needs.
Create measurable, socially significant goals addressing communication, behavior reduction, social development, adaptive functioning, self-help skills, and independence.
Provide ongoing clinical supervision, guidance, training, and performance feedback to RBTs, mid-level clinical staff, and other members of the treatment team.
Support mid-level clinical staff in program implementation, data review, staff coaching, caregiver training, documentation, and treatment-plan execution.
Review the clinical work of mid-level staff to ensure consistency, treatment integrity, and alignment with BCBA recommendations.
Delegate appropriate clinical responsibilities while maintaining oversight and accountability for client treatment.
Conduct regular observations of treatment sessions to evaluate client progress, staff performance, procedural fidelity, and the effectiveness of intervention strategies.
Review, analyze, and interpret client data to determine treatment efficacy and make timely, data-driven modifications.
Provide direct ABA therapy services when clinically appropriate or needed for assessment, treatment modification, staff training, or continuity of care.
Develop and update clinical protocols, skill-acquisition programs, behavior-reduction procedures, and data-collection systems.
Conduct caregiver training and provide families with practical strategies to promote generalization and consistency across environments.
Collaborate with caregivers, clinical leadership, mid-level staff, RBTs, and other members of the client’s treatment team.
Prepare and review accurate and timely treatment plans, reassessments, progress reports, clinical notes, and other required documentation.
Ensure clinical documentation completed by supervised staff meets organizational, insurance, regulatory, and authorization requirements.
Maintain compliance with BACB ethical standards, HIPAA requirements, payer guidelines, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Monitor authorized treatment hours and support appropriate utilization of services.
Lead or participate in clinical meetings, case reviews, staff trainings, quality-assurance activities, and program-development initiatives.
Assist with onboarding, competency development, mentorship, and continued professional growth of RBTs and mid-level clinical staff.
Address clinical concerns promptly and provide corrective feedback, additional training, or program modifications as needed.
Promote a positive, collaborative, professional, and client-centered clinic culture.
Maintain effective communication with families and team members regarding client progress, clinical concerns, recommendations, and treatment changes.

QualificationsRequired

Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification in good standing.
Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, Education, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of ABA principles, functional assessment, skill acquisition, behavior-reduction procedures, reinforcement systems, prompting, generalization, and caregiver training.
Experience providing clinical supervision, feedback, training, and mentorship to behavior technicians or other clinical staff.
Ability to oversee and support mid-level clinical staff while maintaining responsibility for clinical decision-making and treatment quality.
Ability to develop clinically appropriate and individualized treatment plans.
Strong data-analysis, clinical decision-making, problem-solving, leadership, and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain and review accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, RBTs, mid-level staff, and clinical leadership.
Ability to work fully in person at the clinic.

Preferred

One to three years of experience providing ABA services.
Previous experience working as a BCBA in a clinic-based ABA setting.
Experience supervising RBTs, case supervisors, program managers, assistant behavior analysts, or other mid-level clinical staff.
Experience managing a clinical caseload and overseeing multiple treatment teams.
Experience completing assessments, treatment plans, reassessments, progress reports, and insurance-related documentation.
Familiarity with payer requirements, authorization processes, medical-necessity documentation, and compliance standards.
Experience working with children with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Position Schedule

We are currently hiring for the following in-person, clinic-based schedules:

Full-Time

Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Part-Time

Monday through Friday, 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Candidates must be available to work consistently during the schedule selected at the time of hire.

Work Environment

This position is performed in a structured, in-person ABA clinic environment.
