Full Job Description

The Senior Accounts Payable Analyst is a detail-oriented, driven person to maintain high volume, full cycle accounts payable (A/P) accounts. Post invoices and expense reimbursements, process check runs, assist in A/P month-end close process, data entry, and filing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Collate purchase orders, receivers, and invoices for payment authorization (3 way- matching).
Verify invoices for accuracy in assigned general ledger account numbers, pricing, quantity, and applicable taxation; enter data in computer.
Investigate and respond to all vendor and department inquiries; resolve discrepancies.
Process weekly check runs; generate cash requirement reports for payment authorization, print checks, and mail payments to vendors.
Print and maintain payable reports and files.
Assist with monthly close process; review vendor accounts for manual accruals and submit to Accounts Payable Supervisor for review.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and one to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively to vendors and other employees.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and (e.g., SAP). PC or mainframe computer experience; computer/printer operation required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.

Amphastar reports payments and other transfers of value to health care providers as required by federal and state transparency laws and implementing regulations. These laws and regulations require Amphastar to provide government agencies with information such as a health care provider’s name, address and the type of payments or other value received, generally for public disclosure. Subject to further legal review and statutory or regulatory clarification, which Amphastar intends to pursue, reimbursement of recruiting expenses for licensed physicians may constitute a reportable transfer of value under the federal transparency law commonly known as the Sunshine Act. Therefore, if you are a licensed physician who incurs recruiting expenses as a result of interviewing with Amphastar that we pay or reimburse, your name, address and the amount of payments made currently will be reported to the government.
