Furnish Hope is looking for an organized, people-centered leader to help bring clarity, coordination, and momentum to the operational side of our mission.

This is a dynamic, hands-on role in an environment where priorities can shift quickly and no two days look exactly the same. The Mission Operations Manager is highly flexible and adaptable, able to anticipate needs, adjust plans, solve problems, and bring clarity and calm as circumstances change. Most importantly, this person leads with a people-first mindset, recognizing that how we do the work matters just as much as getting the work done. They balance operational excellence with warmth, patience, and compassion, ensuring volunteers, donors, recipients, customers, and community partners feel welcomed, valued, respected, and supported.

At the heart of this role is leading through others. Our Mission Operations Manager equips volunteer leaders and teams to do meaningful work well. This person sees what needs to happen, turns those needs into clear priorities, communicates the plan, and makes sure people have the tools and information they need to succeed.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Lead the people, systems, and day-to-day operations that turn generosity into impact.

Lead & Equip Volunteers

Coach and support volunteer leads as they direct teams throughout the facility.
Create clear priorities, project lists, expectations, and plans for volunteer shifts.
Help develop confident volunteer leaders who can communicate, delegate, and problem-solve.
Create an environment where volunteers feel welcomed, valued, informed, and equipped.

Keep Operations Moving

Coordinate the flow of donations, people, projects, and resources throughout the Donation & Distribution Center.
Oversee areas including donation receiving, sorting, cleaning, furniture repair, loading, hospitality, and special projects.
Anticipate upcoming needs, identify bottlenecks, and adjust priorities, people, and space as needed.
Help maintain an organized, safe, welcoming, and functional facility.

Coordinate Transportation & Logistics

Oversee donation pickup scheduling and transportation needs, including deliveries and organizational projects.
Coordinate drivers, volunteers, vehicles, trailers, routes, and schedules.
Ensure transportation equipment is maintained and ready for use.

Build Systems That Last

Develop practical procedures, checklists, training resources, schedules, and operational systems.
Partner with staff to strengthen volunteer onboarding, training, safety, and communication.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and help Furnish Hope grow while protecting the relational culture at the heart of our work.

This is a hands-on role. Candidates must have a valid driver's license, be comfortable driving Furnish Hope vehicles and towing/backing a trailer, and be willing and able to assist safely with furniture moving, loading, unloading, and other physical aspects of operations when needed.

ABOUT US

Furnish Hope's story traces back to October 2018 when Founder and Executive Director Megan Martin, took a step of faith despite the trying circumstances her family had recently overcome. The vision was to bring hope to local families restarting a home by providing basic essentials at no cost. This began a journey to start furnishing homes in March of 2019 that would far exceed the original vision. Rooted in the belief that leading in love is the best way to live out their faith and that nobody should feel shame due to their circumstances, Furnish Hope established Central Oregon’s only furniture bank, one that would grow to serve all three counties of Deschutes, Jefferson, and Crook. This journey of love, compassion, and dedication continues to shape Furnish Hope's legacy, significantly impacting thousands of lives.
