Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Collision Estimator to join our automotive repair team. In this vital role, you will assess vehicle damage resulting from collisions, develop accurate repair estimates, and communicate effectively with customers and insurance adjusters. Your expertise will help streamline the repair process, ensure customer satisfaction, and maximize shop profitability. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a passion for automotive diagnostics and repair, this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in the collision repair industry.

Duties

Evaluate vehicle damage using computer-aided estimating software and manual inspection techniques
Communicate clearly with customers, insurance companies, and technicians to explain repair estimates and scope of work
Identify additional repairs or services needed through mechanical knowledge and automotive diagnostics
Upsell appropriate services such as oil changes, tire service, suspension repairs, or brake replacements to enhance customer value
Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs including transmissions, shocks & struts, air brakes, and other mechanical systems
Prepare detailed service writing documents and manage all collision repair documentation accurately
Assist in managing dealership or shop workflow by providing excellent customer service and ensuring client communication is professional and transparent

Qualifications

Proven experience as a collision estimator or in auto service management within a dealership or independent shop setting
Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience as a service technician or mechanic preferred
Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
Knowledge of automotive repair processes including oil changes, brake repair, suspension work, tire service, shocks & struts, and transmission repairs
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and confidently
Ability to upsell additional services such as vehicle maintenance or diagnostics to increase revenue opportunities
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles as needed
