Wealth Advisor: Retirement Planning & Wealth Management

Most financial advisor roles make prospecting the job and planning the support act. You are expected to build a book, hunt for assets, and squeeze client work around the pressure to bring in the next household.

We built the opposite of that.

Peak Financial Planning is hiring Wealth Advisors for long-term, client-facing roles centered on retirement income planning and ongoing wealth management. You will lead client meetings, turn complex planning into clear decisions, and deepen relationships with households that already came to Peak for help. No cold calling. No personal book requirement. No expectation that you spend your day originating new business.

This is not a sales role wearing an advisor title. It is a fiduciary relationship-management role for someone who wants to get unusually good at helping people make the transition from accumulating wealth to using it confidently in retirement.

What makes what we do rare from the start

Peak specializes in retirement income planning for pre-retirees and retirees. Our clients come to us for an integrated four-meeting planning process covering retirement readiness, spending capacity, Social Security, tax-efficient withdrawals, Roth conversions, healthcare, and portfolio risk alignment.

The firm generates demand through educational content and a YouTube channel with more than 70,000 subscribers. We book roughly 100 qualified prospect consultations per month without asking advisors to cold-call or build their own pipeline. That lets Wealth Advisors spend their time doing the work clients hired us to do: leading planning conversations, making recommendations, coordinating implementation, and managing relationships over time.

The questions are real and consequential. Can this family retire now? What can they safely spend? Which accounts should fund their lifestyle first? How should Roth conversions, Social Security, ACA subsidies, IRMAA, RMDs, and portfolio risk fit together? Your job is to help clients understand those tradeoffs and act on them.

What you'll be doing

Lead Peak's client planning meetings: Plan Proposal, Cash Flow & Taxes, Investments 1, and Investments 2.
Explain retirement spending capacity and Modern Guardrails in plain English so clients understand both the opportunity and the adjustment rules.
Deliver recommendations involving Social Security timing, Tax-Efficient Withdrawal strategy, Roth conversions, healthcare, and portfolio alignment.
Own the client relationship through the transition from planning into ongoing wealth management.
Conduct ongoing portfolio and planning reviews, update recommendations after life changes, and help clients make confident decisions through retirement.
Work closely with Financial Planners, trading, servicing, and operations so recommendations are complete, documented, and implemented correctly.
Review planning output, advisor notes, and client data for gaps before they become client-facing problems.
Document decisions, follow-up items, and relationship details accurately in HubSpot and Peak's planning systems.
Handle difficult conversations directly when a client needs to hear a clear fiduciary recommendation, even when the answer is not what they hoped to hear.
Help strengthen Peak's talk tracks, training standards, checklists, and client experience as the advisory team grows.

Who this is for

You have already sat across from clients and helped them make real financial decisions. You can explain a technical strategy without hiding behind jargon, and you know that strong advice requires both analytical judgment and the ability to earn trust.

You want a long-term advisory seat focused on serving and deepening client relationships inside an established fee-only firm. You are not looking for a role centered on prospecting, selling products, or moving an existing book of business. You want to become exceptional at retirement income planning and ongoing wealth management.

You are comfortable telling a client the truth, slowing down when the facts are incomplete, and taking ownership through implementation rather than treating the meeting as the finish line.

Requirements

At least two years of direct client-facing experience delivering financial plans and managing ongoing wealth-management relationships within an RIA, fee-only planning firm, or closely related fiduciary environment.
Experience serving as the primary advisor in at least 25 client meetings during the past 12 months.
CFP® or RICP® credential, subject to final confirmation of Peak's approved credential rule.
Working knowledge of retirement income planning, withdrawal sequencing, Roth conversions, Social Security, healthcare, and portfolio risk.
Ability to explain complex planning decisions clearly, concisely, and without jargon.
Strong judgment, follow-through, written communication, and documentation habits.
Comfort working inside detailed checklists, quality standards, and team-based planning workflows.
Self-directed enough to work remotely while staying responsive and accountable to clients and teammates.
Authorization to work full-time in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

This is not an entry-level advisor role, a product-sales role, or a position built around prospecting.

Preferred qualifications

TPCP, CPA, EA, CPWA®, or another advanced credential relevant to retirement, tax, or wealth planning.
Experience with IncomeLab, Holistiplan, Nitrogen/Riskalyze, HubSpot, Altruist, or comparable systems.
Experience advising pre-retirees and retirees through the transition from saving to spending.

Compensation and logistics

Fully remote within the United States.

Full-time, W-2 position working standard business hours in your local time zone, with appropriate availability for client meetings.

Estimated total first-year W-2 compensation of approximately $130,000+.

Long-term compensation trajectory toward $300,000+ annually over approximately five years, based on role progression and the final approved compensation structure.

Benefits per firm policy, including employer health-insurance contribution and 401(k) match.

Occasional in-person team meetings may be required.

Target start date: September 21, 2026.

IncomeLab, Holistiplan, Nitrogen/Riskalyze, HubSpot, Altruist, Google Workspace, and Peak's internal planning templates and Tax-Efficient Withdrawal tools.
