Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will manage the company's outgoing payments, ensure accurate processing of invoices, and maintain seamless financial operations. Your expertise in accounting software, financial concepts, and data entry will help uphold our commitment to financial accuracy and compliance. Responsibilities

Process and verify vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Prepare and review accounts payable transactions, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Manage data entry within various financial software systems such as Workday, SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations related to accounts payable and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies
Support month-end closing activities by preparing reports and assisting with audit requests in accordance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls
Maintain detailed records of all transactions, including invoice documentation, payment approvals, and vendor correspondence
Assist with accounts receivable management and coordinate with other departments on payment schedules and billing inquiries

Requirements

Proven experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or related accounting roles with a strong understanding of accounting systems such as Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or ADP
Solid knowledge of GAAP principles and governmental accounting standards is preferred
Proficiency in financial software including Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, or similar platforms; experience with Excel data analysis is highly valued
Familiarity with technical accounting concepts such as double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and account analysis
Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account reconciliation
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
Ability to adapt to various financial software tools and demonstrate a good understanding of payroll management systems like ADP or UltiPro
