Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Jumbo Underwriter to join our growing mortgage team. This individual will play a key role in evaluating and underwriting complex jumbo loan transactions while maintaining superior service levels for both internal and external customers.

The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of jumbo guidelines, exhibit sound credit judgment, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. If you are passionate about delivering quality decisions, building strong relationships with sales teams, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

Underwrite residential mortgage loans in accordance with jumbo investor guidelines and company policies.
Analyze borrower credit, income, assets, collateral, and overall loan risk.
Review complex tax returns, self-employed borrower income, trust documentation, and layered risk scenarios.
Evaluate appraisal reports and collateral risk for jumbo transactions.
Issue loan approvals, suspense conditions, and decline decisions with clear communication and sound rationale.
Partner closely with Account Executives, Loan Officers, Processing, and Operations teams to ensure timely loan decisions and exceptional service.
Maintain turn times while balancing quality and risk mitigation.
Stay current on investor overlays, compliance requirements, and industry trends.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3–5 years of mortgage underwriting experience, with significant jumbo underwriting expertise required.
Strong understanding of jumbo investor guidelines and layered risk assessment.
Experience analyzing complex income scenarios, including self-employed borrowers, K-1s, tax returns, and multiple income streams.
Knowledge of appraisal review, reserve requirements, and asset documentation for high-balance loans.
Strong decision-making, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
Non-QM experience is a plus.

Pay Disclosure:

The starting base pay range for this position is $43.27/hour. The actual base is dependent on many factors such as: work experience, business needs, market demands, and other compensation components. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
