Job Title: Medical Paralegal (Remote)

Job Description:

Our client specializes in supporting healthcare providers with transforming their operations to improve performance, reduce costs, inrease revenue collection, and improve the patient experience. They specialize in air ambulatory and flight medicine.

Responsibilities/ Job Duties:

Case Management: Building case files and entering data into a template system.
Document Handling: Receiving documents (such as Explanation of Benefits forms) from claims representatives.
Submissions: Managing primary submission components (e.g., cover letters and forms). Note: Attorneys will continue to handle large, complex compilations.
Objective: A new administrative support position is being added to manage increased flight volume and handle claims under the federal No Surprises Act (NSA).
Team Dynamics: The new hire will join an existing team of two. Workloads (primarily data entry, workflows, and templates) are split systematically, typically by odd and even-numbered claims.
Volume: The company processes 90 to 100 commercial flights per month; approximately 80% (roughly 60 claims) fall under the NSA. There is currently no backlog.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office is required. Experience with CMS portals is a plus but not mandatory.
Education: A college degree required. A paralegal certificate is preferred but not required.
Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills and excellent communication are essential for remote collaboration (via Microsoft Teams and email). Persuasive writing is not required.

Schedule/ Shift: Highly flexible day hours. While an 8-to-9 hour shift is expected, the employee can adjust their start and end times as long as all daily tasks are completed.

401k (eligible on the first 401k open enrollment date following 6 consecutive months on assignment. 401k Open Enrollment dates are 1/1, 4/1, 7/1, and 10/1)
