Full Job Description

Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Tax Professional / Bookkeeper with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on dual experience in both tax preparation and full-cycle bookkeeping. CPA designation is strongly preferred. This is a full-time, fully remote role at our firm — ideal for a client-focused professional ready to make an immediate impact and grow long-term with our firm.

We are growing and seeking a sharp dual-skilled professional to join us from anywhere in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals (1040), partnerships (1065), S-corps (1120S), and LLCs
Maintain accurate general ledgers, reconcile accounts, and manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients
Process payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and monthly/quarterly financial close
Communicate directly with clients to gather documents, explain tax positions, and provide proactive guidance
Identify deductions, credits, and planning opportunities to minimize client tax liability
Assist with tax notices, extensions, and amended returns as needed
Maintain organized, compliant client files using firm-standard software and workflows

Qualifications

CPA license strongly preferred · EA (Enrolled Agent) or equivalent credentials also considered

Minimum 5 years of combined tax preparation AND bookkeeping experience — both skills are required
CPA preferred — candidates with active CPA licensure will be prioritized
Demonstrated ability to prepare complex individual and business tax returns independently
Strong working knowledge of GAAP bookkeeping principles and financial statement preparation
Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously and meet firm deadlines
High standard of accuracy, client confidentiality, and professional integrity
Familiarity with sales tax, franchise tax, or payroll tax compliance
