Full Job Description

Brooklyn North Creative Arts Therapy is a dynamic, growing art therapy private practice, and we're seeking another art therapist to join the team! Art therapy licensure is required, and EMDR training is strongly preferred but not required. (Limited permit holders may apply, but please note that the onboarding process will take a bit longer.) This position is fully remote, as all sessions would be conducted virtually, but applicants must be licensed in NY. Our client demographic tends to be creative professionals who want to address anxiety, life transition issues, and trauma histories; I've further tailored the practice towards women and the LGBTQIA+ community, so experience with adults in those demographics is also required. We are also a largely Medicaid-based practice, so you must also be familiar with and passionate about serving that community!

Responsibilities:

● Conduct thorough intakes and maintain weekly caseload of at least 3 clients,

with the potential to increase to 20 - 25 sessions by the end of the year

● Have firm clinical skills to provide weekly psychotherapy sessions for complex clients

● Write all treatment plans and session notes in a timely manner

● Be capable of providing virtual sessions in a space with a professional appearance

● Maintain own schedule

● Have open lines of communication as needed

We will provide:

● Client referrals

● Biweekly hourly supervision if requested (unpaid)

● Simple Practice EHR for all documentation

● As-needed administrative & clinical support from owner of the practice

● Opportunity to gain an in-depth knowledge of the clinical and administrative needs of a

growing art therapy private practice

The ideal candidate is:

● A licensed art therapist with a few years of experience working with adults in the

demographics mentioned above. Limited permit holders may apply but will take longer to

onboard.

● Able to maintain a caseload of 3 clients per week to start, with the potential to increase

caseload to 20 - 25 clients by the end of the year

● EMDR trained (strongly preferred but not required)

● An independent worker, but also aware of when the need for consultation arises

● Interested in learning about new modalities/interventions/contemporary approaches

● Collaborative and enjoyable to work with - and we strive to be the same!

Payment: $45 - 55/hour (commensurate with experience), as a 1099 independent contractor

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
