Engagement Associate – Business Development & Strategic Growth, Wealth Management

Location: Merritt Point Wealth Advisors (remote, some travel)

Type: Full-Time

Position Overview: Merritt Point Wealth Advisors is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Engagement Associate to support the practice’s business development, recruiting, and M&A initiatives.This individual will work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in helping drive the growth of the practice by supporting advisor recruiting efforts, acquisition opportunities, strategic partnerships, and enterprise initiatives. The role combines relationship management, due diligence coordination, project management, and executive-level administrative support. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, is exceptionally organized, communicates professionally, and is capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously with a high degree of ownership and follow-through.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Recruiting Support

Support senior leadership in managing advisor recruiting, strategic partnership, and business development initiatives
Coordinate outreach efforts, meeting scheduling, follow-ups, and ongoing relationship management with prospective advisors and partners
Maintain recruiting and business development pipeline tracking, CRM updates, and opportunity documentation
Liaise between prospective advisors, Merritt Point, capital backer and wealth platform in M&A and recruiting efforts
Assist in preparing presentations, models, recruiting materials, proposals, internal memoranda, and meeting agendas
Help coordinate conferences, industry events, and prospective partner meetings
Leverage modern productivity tools, Microsoft Copilot, and practical AI-enabled workflows to improve organization, communication, reporting, research, and operational efficiency

M&A & Due Diligence Coordination

Support merger, acquisition, and tuck-in opportunity workflows from initial outreach through diligence and onboarding
Coordinate collection and organization of diligence materials, financial data, and operational information
Track diligence requests, timelines, outstanding items, and transaction-related follow-ups
Liaise cross-functionally with legal, compliance, operations, finance, and transition teams to help ensure smooth execution
Assist in preparing internal approval materials, valuation analyses, and transaction summaries

Operational & Administrative Support

Provide highly organized administrative and project coordination support across multiple concurrent initiatives
Manage timelines, calendars, action items, and workflow processes for senior business development professionals
Maintain accurate records, reporting dashboards, and process documentation
Identify inefficiencies or process gaps and proactively recommend operational improvements
Help ensure a high-touch, professional experience for prospective partners and recruits throughout the engagement process

Qualifications

2–5 years of experience in financial services, consulting, business operations, recruiting coordination, project management, investment banking, private equity, wealth management, or a related field
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Self-starter with strong accountability, ownership mentality, and follow-through
Professional communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with senior executives and external partners
Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in a fast-moving environment
High level of discretion and professionalism with confidential information
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and the latest Microsoft 365/Copilot functionality; comfort leveraging AI-enabled tools and modern workplace technology to improve efficiency and organization
Experience with CRM systems, pipeline management, or transaction coordination is a plus
