Full Job Description

Provident Research Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Clinical Research Associate (SR CRA) for an immediate opening in a dedicated Functional Service Provider relationship supporting a leading Medical Device client. This is a remote, field-based position.

This role is responsible for managing clinical study activities across multiple sites and serving as a key liaison between Clinical Operations and study site personnel. We are seeking a seasoned CRA with strong independent monitoring experience, prior medical device exposure, and a background in complex cardiovascular research, whether from cardiovascular medical device or advanced cardiovascular pharmaceutical studies.

Position Summary

The Senior CRA is responsible for the successful execution of monitoring and site management activities for assigned clinical studies. This includes oversight of site performance, protocol compliance, data quality, subject safety, and study documentation. The SR CRA will work independently across multiple sites and collaborate closely with cross-functional study team members.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct all site visit types, including qualification, site initiation, routine monitoring, and closeout visits
Independently manage assigned investigative sites to ensure compliance with protocol, GCP, regulatory requirements, and sponsor expectations
Review source documentation, eCRFs, adverse events, deviations, and essential regulatory documents
Ensure timely site follow-up, issue resolution, and completion of monitoring reports and action items
Maintain strong working relationships with investigators, coordinators, and study site staff
Track site performance, enrollment progress, data quality, and protocol adherence
Escalate site issues appropriately and partner with cross-functional team members to support study execution
Serve as the primary liaison between Clinical Operations and assigned study sites

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience as a field-based traveling Senior CRA
Minimum 2 years of clinical monitoring experience in medical device studies
Strong experience independently managing multiple sites and all monitoring visit types
Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP, FDA regulations, and clinical trial documentation requirements
Excellent organizational, communication, and site management skills
Ability to travel based on study and site needs

Cardiovascular Experience Requirement

Candidates must have strong cardiovascular research experience. This may be demonstrated through either:

cardiovascular/cardiac medical device experience, or
advanced cardiovascular pharmaceutical trial experience

Relevant advanced cardiovascular therapeutic experience may include:

Heart failure
Acute coronary syndrome
Post-MI populations
Atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmias
Pulmonary hypertension
Complex coronary artery disease
Other higher-acuity cardiology indications

Candidates with experience supporting studies in hospital-based cardiology settings, procedural environments, cardiovascular imaging, ECG/rhythm review, anticoagulation-heavy protocols, or interventional cardiology-adjacent settings are strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in cardiovascular medical device studies
Experience with higher-acuity cardiology populations
Experience working with academic centers, hospital systems, and high-enrolling sites
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant clinical research experience

Travel

This is a field-based role
Travel is required and will vary based on site assignments and study needs
