Remote Freelance Legal Assistant – Immigration Law

English/Spanish Bilingual | Flexible Hours | Remote

We are seeking a reliable, organized, and self-motivated Freelance Legal Assistant to provide remote support to a busy immigration attorney. This is a flexible, remote position that is well suited for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable with technology, and able to communicate professionally with clients in both English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

The Legal Assistant will assist with a variety of administrative and case-management tasks, including:

Assisting clients with completing immigration forms and questionnaires
Communicating with clients to obtain necessary information and documentation
Organizing, reviewing, labeling, and categorizing client documents
Maintaining organized electronic case files
Assisting with case management and tracking deadlines and outstanding items
Following up with clients regarding missing information or documents
Preparing and organizing documents for attorney review
Performing other legal assistant and administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications

Fluent in both English and Spanish – required
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Comfortable learning and using technology, online platforms, and case-management systems
Reliable and responsive when assigned tasks
Prior office, administrative, legal assistant, or immigration experience is preferred, but not required
Willingness to learn — training will be provided

Schedule & Work Arrangement

100% remote
Completely flexible hours
Freelance/independent contractor position
Number of hours may vary from week to week depending on workload
Ideal for someone looking for flexible remote work who can manage assignments independently and meet deadlines

Compensation

Pay is commensurate with experience and workload
Monthly performance bonuses available
Opportunity for additional work and responsibility based on performance and the needs of the practice

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who takes initiative, stays organized without constant supervision, communicates well, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced legal environment. The right candidate does not necessarily need prior immigration experience—we are willing to train someone who is dependable, motivated, technologically capable, and eager to learn.
