Why this job exists
Trampetti helps construction business owners get out of the trap where the company only runs when the owner is in the room. We do it by installing an operating cadence and then building the systems that hold it — job-cost visibility, change-order discipline, WIP position, and the automations that keep those things current without anyone re-typing data.

That work has two halves. One half is sitting across from a $5M–$50M contractor and telling him the truth about his margins. The other half is going into the mess — the job-cost export, the estimating spreadsheet, the field app nobody finished rolling out — and rebuilding it into something that reports itself.

We are hiring for the second half, and training you into the first.

The role
You are the person who turns a client's disorganized reality into a working system. Concretely: you rebuild per-job margins from raw exports, you find the change orders that were never billed, you write the SOP for the process that was living in the estimator's head, and you build the automation that keeps it alive after we leave.

You will work alongside a fractional COO on live client engagements from your first month. You will not be shielded from clients, and you will not be left alone with them either.

What you will own in your first 12 months
Written as outcomes, not activities. These are what you will be measured on.

1. Job-cost rebuilds. Take a client's raw cost data and produce a defensible per-job margin picture for their last 10–15 jobs, including a written list of the assumptions you had to make and the data you could not get. Target: you run this end-to-end, unsupervised, by month 4.

2. Change-order autopsy. Identify work performed and not billed, with the paper trail to support each finding. Target: unsupervised by month 5.

3. SOPs that survive you. Every engagement you touch leaves behind at least one written, tested procedure that the client's own staff executes without us. Target: 6 shipped and adopted in year one.

4. Automation builds. Ship working automations (data pulls, reporting, alerting, document generation) against the client's existing tool stack. Target: 4 in production and still running 60 days after handoff.

5. Meeting discipline. By month 6, you run the operating-cadence session for at least one client account, with the COO in the room, and by month 10 you run one without.

What you will actually do, week to week

Pull, clean, and reconcile client data — cost reports, estimates, AP, AR, timecards — and make it agree with itself
Build the analysis in spreadsheets and code, and document how you got there so someone else can rerun it
Sit in client meetings, take the real notes, and turn them into tasks with owners and dates
Walk a process with the people who do it, write it down, then fix it
Build and maintain automations across the client's stack
Get on a jobsite when the answer isn't in the data

Who you are (Required):

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or equivalent — recent graduates are welcome and expected
Real exposure to how construction actually runs: internship, co-op, family business, field work, or time as a project/field engineer. You have seen a schedule slip and a change order get argued about.
Genuinely technical. You are comfortable with data and you build things. Advanced Excel is the floor. At least one of: SQL, Python, Power BI/Power Query, VBA, BIM/VDC tooling, or hands-on experience wiring tools together with no-code automation platforms.
You write clearly. Short, direct, no filler. We will test this.
Coachable in the specific sense we mean: you take a direct correction, apply it the same day, and do not need it twice.
Legally able to work in the US without sponsorship. Reliable transportation and willingness to be on a client site in Central Florida on short notice.

Strong plus:

BIM/VDC concentration or a construction-technology track
Exposure to job costing in Procore, Sage, Viewpoint, Foundation, or QuickBooks Contractor
You have automated something for a real employer and it stuck
You have read Traction, Rocket Fuel, or The Goal, and have an opinion about them

Do not apply if:

You want a defined lane. This role is deliberately broad and changes with the client in front of us.
You need to be the smartest person in the room. You will be the least experienced person in most rooms for a while, in front of owners who have been building for thirty years.
You want a title now. The path here is real (see below) and it is earned, not scheduled.

The path

Implementation Engineer → Senior Implementation Engineer → Integrator.

We will say plainly what most firms won't: the Integrator role — running the operating cadence across a portfolio of accounts and holding a leadership team accountable — is the destination, and it is a three-to-five-year climb, not a promotion date. If you want it, this is the fastest legitimate route to it we know how to build. If someone offers you that title out of school, they are either confused or lying.

How we hire
Four steps. Two weeks, start to offer, if you move when we move.

1. Application. Resume, plus 150 words on the messiest process you have ever seen inside a real construction company and what you would have changed first. No cover letter. We read the 150 words first.

2. 30-minute call. Mutual screen.

3. Two-hour working session. You walk us through your work sample, we push back hard on it, and you meet the COO you would be working next to. We tell every candidate yes or no. If it's no, we tell you why.

Pay: $30.00 per hour
