Sales Manager

Location: Remote
Department: Sales
Reports To: Senior Sales Manager / Director of Sales
Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Position Summary

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team of licensed health insurance agents focused on the sale of Affordable Care Act (ACA), Private Health Insurance, Supplemental, and Ancillary products. This role is accountable for driving sales performance, placement rates, quality results, attendance, compliance adherence, and overall agent development.

The ideal candidate is a results-oriented leader with a strong background in health insurance sales, a passion for coaching, and the ability to leverage data to drive performance while maintaining a compliant and customer-focused sales culture. This individual will play a key role in executing RateQuote Direct's commitment to delivering exceptional consumer experiences while achieving company and client objectives.

Key ResponsibilitiesSales Leadership & Team Development

Lead, coach, and develop a team of licensed insurance agents to achieve sales, quality, placement, and attendance goals.
Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions focused on performance improvement, skill development, and career growth.
Foster a culture of accountability, compliance, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Monitor agent productivity and performance through daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
Recognize and reward high performance while addressing performance concerns in a timely and effective manner.
Partner with Training and Quality teams to identify development opportunities and deliver targeted coaching plans.

Performance Management

Drive key performance indicators including:
Sales Production
Placement Rate
Quality Assurance Scores
Attendance & Schedule Adherence
Conversion Metrics
Customer Experience Metrics
Analyze performance trends and implement action plans to improve results.
Conduct performance reviews, corrective actions, and performance improvement plans as necessary.
Utilize CRM, dialer, and reporting tools to monitor team effectiveness and identify opportunities for growth.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

Ensure all sales activities are conducted in accordance with ACA regulations, CMS guidelines, TCPA requirements, carrier expectations, and company policies.
Partner closely with Compliance and Quality Assurance teams to maintain high standards of ethical sales practices.
Reinforce accurate documentation, proper disclosures, and compliant enrollment practices.
Participate in quality reviews and implement corrective coaching when necessary.
Maintain current knowledge of industry regulations, products, and market changes.

Operational Excellence

Manage daily call center operations for assigned team members.
Monitor staffing, attendance, schedule adherence, and productivity metrics.
Support organizational initiatives, process improvements, and special projects.
Collaborate with Workforce Management, Training, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure seamless execution of business objectives.
Assist with onboarding and mentoring newly hired agents.

Customer Experience & Escalation Management

Handle escalated customer concerns and complex member situations.
Support agents in resolving customer issues while maintaining a positive customer experience.
Promote customer retention through consultative and solution-oriented sales practices.

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or GED required.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of insurance sales
Minimum of 2 years of health insurance sales experience with strong ACA knowledge.
Minimum of 1-2 years of leadership experience within a call center, insurance, or sales environment.
Experience managing remote and/or hybrid teams preferred.
Proven ability to drive sales performance and develop successful sales professionals.

Skills & Competencies

Strong leadership, coaching, and performance management abilities.
Advanced knowledge of ACA, private health insurance, supplemental products, and enrollment processes.
Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret reports and performance data.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and CRM platforms.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills.

Licenses & Certifications

Active Resident Health Insurance License (2-15 or equivalent) required.
Ability to obtain and maintain additional state licenses as required.
