Full Job Description

Donely provides the agent-hosting infrastructure that businesses rely on to deploy, operate, and scale AI agents securely. More than 5,000 businesses use Donely to host critical agent infrastructure and support increasingly important automated workflows.

Security, privacy, reliability, and customer trust are fundamental to our product. As AI agents gain greater access to business systems and sensitive information, we need an exceptional security leader capable of protecting a rapidly growing, high-impact infrastructure platform.

The Role

Donely is hiring a deeply experienced Chief Information Security Officer to own our company-wide security, privacy, compliance, and technology-risk strategy.

This is not a ceremonial leadership position. We are seeking a hands-on executive who has protected complex cloud infrastructure, built mature security organizations, advised boards, earned the trust of demanding enterprise customers, and led companies through serious security incidents.

The CISO will report directly to the CEO and have the authority, resources, and executive support required to build a world-class security program.

What You’ll Lead

Define and execute Donely’s global cybersecurity, privacy, compliance, and information-risk strategy.
Protect the infrastructure used by more than 5,000 businesses to host and operate AI agents.
Secure our cloud environments, agent runtimes, APIs, customer data, internal systems, software supply chain, and production operations.
Establish strong isolation, access-control, secrets-management, encryption, logging, monitoring, and abuse-prevention standards.
Lead security architecture, engineering, operations, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, incident response, application security, and third-party risk.
Prepare Donely to prevent, detect, contain, investigate, and recover from sophisticated cyberattacks.
Own the executive response to security incidents, including customer, regulatory, legal, insurance, and board communications.
Build and maintain security and compliance programs aligned with SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS Controls, GDPR, CCPA, and relevant emerging AI regulations.
Partner with engineering and product leaders to embed security throughout the development lifecycle without unnecessarily slowing innovation.
Evaluate the unique security risks created by autonomous agents, tool execution, prompt injection, data exfiltration, excessive permissions, compromised models, and malicious workloads.
Develop clear security metrics and regularly brief executive leadership and the Board of Directors on material risks.
Represent Donely’s security program during enterprise sales, customer reviews, audits, and regulatory discussions.
Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing global security organization.
Build a company culture in which protecting customers is everyone’s responsibility.

Required Experience

At least 15 years of progressive cybersecurity, information-security, infrastructure-security, or technology-risk experience.
Substantial experience as a CISO, Deputy CISO, VP of Security, or equivalent executive at a cloud, infrastructure, SaaS, AI, or highly regulated technology company.
A proven record of building or transforming enterprise-grade security programs at significant scale.
Deep expertise in cloud and platform security, distributed systems, identity and access management, application security, data protection, container security, API security, and software supply-chain risk.
Direct leadership experience during significant security incidents, including executive decision-making and external communications under pressure.
Experience securing multi-tenant infrastructure that processes sensitive customer data and runs customer-controlled workloads.
Strong understanding of AI-agent security, model security, prompt injection, sandboxing, tool permissions, workload isolation, and emerging AI threats.
Extensive experience presenting security strategy and material risk to boards, enterprise customers, regulators, auditors, and senior executives.
Demonstrated success recruiting and leading senior security professionals across multiple disciplines.
Expert knowledge of modern security frameworks, regulatory requirements, privacy obligations, risk-management practices, and enterprise assurance programs.
Exceptional judgment, integrity, communication skills, and executive presence.

Strongly Preferred

Previous CISO experience at a hyperscale cloud, infrastructure, developer-platform, cybersecurity, or artificial-intelligence company.
Experience protecting systems serving thousands of business customers.
Experience with Kubernetes, containers, serverless environments, workload sandboxing, zero-trust architecture, and high-scale production systems.
Leadership experience across SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA programs.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CCISO, or equivalent credentials.
Established relationships across the cybersecurity, intelligence, regulatory, and law-enforcement communities.

What Success Looks Like

During the first year, the CISO will:

Complete a comprehensive assessment of Donely’s most material security, privacy, and operational risks.
Deliver and begin executing a prioritized, business-aligned security roadmap.
Strengthen the security architecture of Donely’s agent-hosting platform.
Establish measurable security standards across engineering and operations.
Test and improve Donely’s incident-response and disaster-recovery capabilities.
Increase customer confidence through stronger security assurance and transparent communication.
Build a security leadership team capable of supporting Donely’s continued growth.
Give the executive team and Board clear, honest visibility into Donely’s security posture.
