Administrative Law Document Review Attorney

Location: Remote; must be actively licensed and in good standing in your State
Engagement type: Independent attorney network / project-based client engagements
Schedule: Flexible, as-needed opportunities

About BoardWise

BoardWise is a technology platform that helps licensed professionals understand and respond to professional licensing and administrative board matters. Users may seek limited-scope legal assistance from an independent attorney for document review, legal advice, or other defined services.

We are building a network of experienced attorneys who are interested in accepting occasional, project-based client matters involving professional licensing and administrative law.

The Opportunity

Attorneys in the BoardWise network may be introduced to individuals seeking limited-scope legal services. Each opportunity may be reviewed and accepted or declined independently.

When an attorney accepts a matter, the attorney will establish a direct attorney-client relationship with the individual, conduct all necessary conflict and eligibility checks, define the scope of representation, and enter into a separate engagement agreement directly with the client.

This is not a salaried position, an employment relationship, or a guarantee of any minimum volume of work.

Potential Services

Depending on the individual matter and agreed scope, services may include:

Reviewing draft responses to licensing-board complaints, investigations, self-reports, or inquiries
Reviewing supporting records and correspondence
Identifying material legal, procedural, or factual concerns
Advising clients regarding deadlines, response obligations, and potential next steps
Suggesting revisions to improve clarity, completeness, accuracy, and legal positioning
Reviewing proposed consent agreements, corrective-action plans, or settlement documents
Providing limited-scope consultations concerning professional licensing matters
Referring clients for broader representation when a matter falls outside the agreed scope

The attorney will exercise independent professional judgment in all legal work and will remain solely responsible for determining whether a requested limited-scope engagement is appropriate.

Qualifications

Active law license in good standing
Professional liability insurance
Experience in administrative law, professional licensing, regulatory enforcement, healthcare law, or related matters
Strong legal research, document-review, and written communication skills
Ability to clearly define the scope and limitations of a representation
Ability to complete conflict checks and attorney-client onboarding independently
Comfortable working remotely and communicating with clients electronically
Responsive, compassionate, and respectful communication with individuals facing stressful professional circumstances

Experience representing healthcare professionals or other occupational licensees before licensing agencies is preferable.

Engagement and Compensation

Attorneys determine whether to accept each prospective client matter.

For accepted matters:

The attorney and client will enter into their own written engagement agreement.
The attorney will independently determine whether the representation is ethically and professionally appropriate.
The attorney will clearly define the scope of services, fee, turnaround time, and limitations of the engagement.
Compensation will be agreed upon between the attorney and client.
The client will pay the attorney directly through the designated payment process.
The attorney will be responsible for the attorney-client relationship, legal advice, professional obligations, conflicts, confidentiality, trust-account compliance, taxes, and malpractice coverage.

BoardWise does not direct or control the attorney’s legal judgment and does not guarantee any minimum number of referrals or engagements.

We are looking for attorneys who combine sound legal judgment with clear communication, practical advice, and respect for clients who may not be able to afford traditional full-service representation.
