Overview
We're not looking for someone who can "do PR." We're looking for someone who can create news.
Vitamin D Public Relations is a boutique strategic communications firm representing people, companies, nonprofits, and ideas that move markets, shape public policy, change culture, and rewrite history. Our clients don't hire us to generate clips or send press releases. They hire us to identify the stories that matter, shape the narrative, and influence the conversations driving our country and our world.
If you've successfully secured bookings on top-tier cable news, landed stories in the nation's most influential publications, and have the strategic instincts to turn ideas into headlines, we'd love to meet you.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Account Executive, you'll serve as both a strategist and an executor—developing communications strategies, advising clients, cultivating media relationships, and securing high-impact earned media that advances our clients' missions and elevates their influence.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves the challenge of landing national media, thinks several steps ahead of the news cycle, and genuinely enjoys becoming a trusted advisor to clients.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute strategic communications plans that generate meaningful earned media and measurable results.
- Build compelling storylines—not just media pitches—that reporters and producers want to cover.
- Pitch top-tier cable news bookers and producers, national print reporters, digital journalists, radio hosts, and podcast producers.
- Secure interviews and placements in top-tier national media, as well as influential trade, regional, and digital outlets.
- Identify breaking news opportunities and rapidly position clients as go-to voices.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for client accounts, building trusted relationships through proactive communication and sound strategic counsel.
- Draft press releases, media advisories, messaging documents, talking points, op-eds, award submissions, and executive communications.
- Prepare clients for television, radio, podcast, and print interviews.
- Develop thought leadership strategies that raise client visibility and credibility over time.
- Monitor the media landscape, identify trends, and proactively recommend opportunities before clients ask.
- Collaborate with agency leadership on client strategy, business development, and campaign execution.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
You understand that great PR isn't about sending more emails—it's about earning trust, identifying compelling stories, and knowing exactly who to call and when to call them.
You're intellectually curious, strategically minded, highly organized, and energized by the pursuit of landing stories others think are impossible.
You have excellent news judgment, exceptional writing skills, and the confidence to counsel senior executives, CEOs, authors, elected officials, and thought leaders.
Most importantly, you're the type of person who sees opportunities where others see obstacles.
