Content Coordinator (Contract)
Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.
Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Content Publishing and Automation Specialist to support content publishing operations and help transform manual content workflows into efficient, scalable solutions across Microsoft 365 applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and emerging AI-powered experiences. This role blends hands-on content quality assurance and publishing with practical automation development, requiring someone equally comfortable inspecting a template for subtle quality issues and opening a terminal to script a repeatable workflow. The ideal candidate is meticulous, curious, proactive, and pragmatic — able to connect day-to-day operational details to broader team goals, communicate risks and dependencies early, and build trusted partnerships across content, design, engineering, and localization disciplines. A typical day combines content publishing activities (approximately 30–50% of time) with designing, building, and maintaining automated workflows and reporting solutions for the remainder.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform detailed quality assurance checks of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint templates before ingestion, verifying metadata, accessibility compliance, and adherence to publishing standards
Publish and maintain content in a CMS following established workflows and release requirements
Support English (en-US) and localized bulk-ingestion workflows and coordinate handoffs across content, design, and localization teams
Maintain clear operational documentation, trackers, status updates, and audit trails for all publishing activities
Identify repetitive or error-prone content operations and translate them into clear automation requirements and maintainable workflow designs
Build, test, document, and maintain scripts and lightweight tools using Python, PowerShell, or similar scripting technologies
Use GitHub Copilot CLI, GitHub Copilot in Visual Studio Code, or comparable AI-assisted development tools to accelerate solution development, troubleshooting, and documentation
Consolidate existing scripts into simple, reliable end-to-end tools including one-click workflows where appropriate
Create dashboards and reporting solutions that provide visibility into publishing workstreams, throughput, quality metrics, and blockers
Develop clear process documentation, user guidance, and support materials so automated solutions can be adopted and maintained by the broader team
Balance automation with appropriate human review to ensure solutions improve efficiency without compromising content quality or publishing controls
Collaborate closely with content managers, designers, engineers, localization partners, and other vendors while proactively communicating progress, risks, and recommendations
Requirements:
2–4 years of experience in digital content publishing, content operations, content management, production, or a related field
2+ years of hands-on experience building, testing, and maintaining automated solutions using Python, PowerShell, APIs, or similar technologies
2+ years of practical experience with Microsoft 365 applications in a professional publishing or operations context
Demonstrated experience with CMS platforms, content ingestion workflows, metadata preparation, and structured quality assurance processes
Experience consolidating scripts, developing batch-processing and validation workflows, and building reliable, well-documented tools for team-wide use
Bachelor's degree in Content Automation, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
Strong expertise with Microsoft 365, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Hands-on experience using a content management or publishing platform to prepare, publish, update, and maintain digital content
Strong understanding of content publishing lifecycles including intake, metadata preparation, QA, localization, ingestion, release, and maintenance
Demonstrated ability to automate workflows using Python, PowerShell, or another scripting language
Experience using GitHub Copilot CLI, GitHub Copilot in Visual Studio Code, or similar AI-assisted development tools to create scripts or automated solutions
Strong attention to detail and experience performing structured QA against defined requirements or checklists
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple publishing and automation priorities independently
Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills with the ability to build alignment across technical and non-technical teams
Ability to translate operational needs into clear strategic recommendations and influence decisions across disciplines
Preferred: Experience with APIs, Git-based workflows, command-line tools, Kusto, Excel automation, or dashboard and reporting solutions
Preferred: Experience developing batch-processing tools, validation frameworks, or internal utilities for content or quality operations
Preferred: Familiarity with generative AI, prompt-based workflows, or human-in-the-loop quality processes
