CrowdStrike Falcon Security Consultant / SME

Contract | REMOTE

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced CrowdStrike Falcon Security Consultant / SME for a short-term, remote security assessment and advisory engagement supporting a public-sector client. The consultant will assess an existing CrowdStrike Falcon environment, evaluate its configuration and utilization, identify opportunities for optimization, and deliver a formal written report with clear, prioritized recommendations for both technical and executive audiences.

This is an independent security assessment/advisory engagement. It is not a vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, implementation, or managed services role.

Key Responsibilities

· Review an existing CrowdStrike Falcon deployment covering endpoint and server protection and confirm it is Ïconfigured and tuned appropriately for the environment.

· Assess monitoring, alerting, log ingestion, and data retention configurations and identify areas where Falcon capabilities are under-utilized.

· Evaluate how CrowdStrike Falcon integrates with other security monitoring and threat-detection controls.

· Identify opportunities to bring additional log sources into the SIEM.

· Review and assess Falcon detection rules, alerting, dashboards, log ingestion pipelines, and retention settings.

· Document findings, security gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

· Develop a written assessment report containing clear, actionable, and prioritized recommendations.

· Communicate findings effectively to both technical stakeholders and executive audiences.

Required Qualifications

Direct, hands-on CrowdStrike Falcon administration and configuration experience is required. Candidates whose experience is limited to monitoring or investigating CrowdStrike alerts as an analyst will not meet the requirements.

· Hands-on experience configuring, tuning, and optimizing CrowdStrike Falcon specifically—not simply general EDR/XDR experience.

· Personal administration/configuration experience with relevant Falcon modules such as Next-Gen SIEM, Falcon Insight/EDR, Falcon Prevent, and similar capabilities.

· Operational experience validating and optimizing detection rules, alerting, dashboards, log ingestion pipelines, and data retention settings.

· Broader security monitoring and threat-detection experience beyond CrowdStrike, including network monitoring, SIEM platforms, and log-source integration.

· Demonstrated experience assessing an existing security environment rather than building an environment from scratch.

· Experience producing written security assessment reports with prioritized and actionable recommendations.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings to executive audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

· CrowdStrike Falcon certification or an equivalent recognized security certification.

· Experience integrating file-share, audit, or other non-endpoint log sources into a SIEM.

· Familiarity with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (NIST CSF).

· Public-sector or government security assessment experience.

This opportunity is ideal for a senior CrowdStrike Falcon professional who can independently assess an existing environment, identify configuration and monitoring improvements, and translate technical findings into a concise, actionable report for both technical and executive stakeholders.

Pay: $65.00 - $80.00 per hour
