Full Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Cloud Network Engineer to design, implement, and support secure cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions. This individual will work directly with customers to understand their operational, technical, and security requirements and translate them into scalable, reliable environments.

The position will oversee solutions from initial assessment and architecture through deployment, testing, documentation, and customer handoff. Projects will primarily involve Microsoft Azure and the integration of cloud services with customers’ existing on-premises networks, systems, and security infrastructure.

Location Raleigh, NC or Remote

This is a primarily remote position with occasional travel to company offices and customer sites.

Pay: $140,000–$160,000 annually, depending on experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the architecture, configuration, testing, and deployment of cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions.
Gather customer requirements and develop designs addressing connectivity, network architecture, identity, security, computing, storage, and migration needs.
Build and support Azure environments, including virtual machines, VPN connectivity, Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, and Role-Based Access Control.
Implement and maintain identity-management, multifactor-authentication, single-sign-on, and federated-identity solutions.
Configure and troubleshoot technologies such as Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routing, bandwidth, and quality of service.
Integrate on-premises systems and networks with cloud-based infrastructure while maintaining appropriate security and access controls.
Investigate complex technical issues escalated by network operations and support teams.
Conduct infrastructure assessments and provide customers with practical recommendations for improving their cloud and hybrid environments.
Create architecture diagrams, configuration records, implementation plans, operating procedures, and support documentation.
Explain completed solutions to customer stakeholders and provide the knowledge needed for ongoing administration and support.
Serve as a technical resource to other team members and provide training or mentorship when needed.
Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute recommendations regarding new tools, platforms, and technical standards.
Travel to customer locations when remote troubleshooting or implementation support is not sufficient.
Participate in technical projects and handle additional responsibilities appropriate to the position.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related discipline, or at least five years of relevant professional experience.
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing cloud and hybrid infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and the integration of cloud services with on-premises environments.
Hands-on networking experience involving IP addressing and subnetting, VLANs, port aggregation, DNS, DHCP, RDP, LDAP, routing, and VPN connectivity.
Experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or newer, Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and PowerShell.
Ability to diagnose complex network, identity, access, and multifactor-authentication issues.
CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ certifications.
Palo Alto PCNSA certification.
Ability to travel as customer and project needs require.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (if missing certifications can get certified with client)

Experience with SonicWall, Palo Alto, UniFi, Cisco, Meraki, or HP networking technologies.
Familiarity with VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, and/or Proxmox virtualization platforms.
Experience supporting enterprise antivirus, data-protection, and backup solutions.
Working knowledge of Linux server environments.
Check Point CCSA, Microsoft Azure AZ-104 or AZ-700, MCSE or comparable Microsoft credentials, Palo Alto PCNSE, or relevant Cisco certifications.

Pay: $140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
