Full Job Description

Health Center Partners of Southern California is seeking a Director of Information Security and Cyber Risk to lead and mature the organization's cybersecurity, information security, cyber risk, and security governance program across its Family of Companies. This role protects information systems, networks, regulated data, and operational continuity by aligning security strategy, policies, technical safeguards, incident preparedness, third-party risk management, and risk remediation with HIPAA, NIST-aligned practices, and applicable privacy, security, and compliance requirements.

The Director serves as a trusted advisor to leadership by translating complex technical and regulatory risks into practical business recommendations, executive-level reporting, and strategic risk management initiatives. This position collaborates closely with privacy, compliance, IT, operations, finance, vendors, and executive stakeholders to strengthen cyber resilience, support governance activities, evaluate emerging technologies and AI-related risks, and advance a culture of security awareness and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Lead cybersecurity governance, security strategy, and cyber risk management initiatives.
Oversee security risk assessments, HIPAA security reviews, vulnerability management, and remediation planning.
Direct third-party security reviews, vendor risk assessments, and technology risk evaluations.
Lead incident response coordination, cyber resilience planning, and security preparedness activities.
Develop executive dashboards, board-facing reports, risk summaries, and security metrics.
Support security awareness, workforce education, and organizational security culture initiatives.
Evaluate emerging technologies, cloud platforms, AI-related risks, and enterprise security controls.
Partner with stakeholders throughout the organization to strengthen security, compliance, and operational resilience.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Risk Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in information security, cybersecurity governance, IT risk, compliance, or a related field.
Minimum five (5) years of security leadership, management, or director-level experience.
Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, or maturing an enterprise-wide security program.
Experience conducting cybersecurity risk assessments, vulnerability management, remediation planning, and executive reporting.
Experience translating technical risks into practical business recommendations for leadership.
Healthcare, HIPAA-regulated, nonprofit, or other compliance-focused experience preferred.

Knowledge & Expertise

Strong knowledge of cybersecurity governance, risk management, security controls, vulnerability management, incident response, and business continuity.
Experience with cloud security, Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, identity and access management, and audit readiness activities.
Experience with vendor risk management, third-party security reviews, and regulatory compliance programs.
Strong communication skills with the ability to prepare executive summaries, dashboards, presentations, and board-facing materials.
Strong analytical, project management, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to influence and lead cross-functional initiatives across diverse teams and stakeholders.
