E-Commerce Merchandising & Retail Media Manager

Job Summary

The E-Commerce Merchandising & Retail Media Manager will drive online assortment performance, identify product white-space opportunities, strengthen digital shelf execution, and support retail media strategy for Walmart, Sam’s Club, The Home Depot, and Lowe’s.

This hybrid role combines e-commerce merchandising and product insights with retail media and digital marketing. The ideal candidate is a commercially minded e-commerce professional who can translate sales, search, competitive, and consumer data into recommendations that improve product assortments, conversion, and sales.

E-Commerce Merchandising & Product Insights

· Develop e-commerce merchandising strategies for Walmart, Sam’s Club, The Home Depot, and Lowe’s.

· Analyze sales, search behavior, competitive assortments, pricing, customer reviews, and category trends to identify product and assortment white-space opportunities.

· Create product opportunity briefs and retailer-specific recommendations across product types, features, styles, finishes, dimensions, and price points.

· Partner with Design, Product Development, Sales, and Sourcing to translate marketplace insights into commercially viable product concepts and differentiated assortments.

· Support line reviews and product presentations with assortment maps, competitive comparisons, pricing analysis, and product-positioning recommendations.

· Monitor item performance and recommend opportunities to expand, refresh, reposition, or discontinue products.

Digital Shelf & Content

· Own the quality, accuracy, and conversion performance of product listings across the four priority retailer websites.

· Write and optimize product titles, descriptions, feature bullets, search terms, and other retailer-facing content.

· Conduct keyword and competitor research to improve product discoverability, organic ranking, and share of voice.

· Partner with the Design Team to develop product imagery, enhanced content, comparison charts, video, and other conversion-focused assets.

· Maintain accurate product information through retailer portals and syndication tools, and conduct regular digital shelf audits to resolve content gaps and listing errors.

Retail Media & Performance

· Develop and optimize paid search, sponsored product, display, and other retail media campaigns across the four priority retailers.

· Align media investments with product priorities, retailer events, promotions, new launches, and inventory availability.

· Manage budgets and optimize keywords, audiences, bids, product groupings, and creative against return on ad spend and sales objectives.

· Coordinate with agencies, platforms, and vendor partners, providing clear briefs, product priorities, and performance goals.

· Track sales, traffic, conversion, ROAS, organic ranking, share of voice, and sales lift; translate results into recommendations for assortment, content, pricing, and media investment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Partner with retailer Sales and Account Management teams to align e-commerce initiatives with line reviews, launches, promotions, and inventory plans.

· Collaborate with Design, Product Development, Sourcing, Operations, Planning, and Marketing to support retailer-specific product and growth strategies.

· Serve as the primary internal e-commerce merchandising resource for Walmart, Sam’s Club, The Home Depot, and Lowe’s.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.

· Four to six years of experience in e-commerce merchandising, retail media, category management, digital marketing, or digital shelf operations.

· Direct experience supporting at least one major retailer, preferably Walmart, Sam’s Club, The Home Depot, or Lowe’s.

· Demonstrated ability to identify assortment gaps and turn consumer, competitive, search, and sales insights into product recommendations.

· Experience with retail media platforms such as Walmart Connect, along with retailer portals, reporting tools, and item-setup processes.

· Familiarity with product syndication or digital shelf tools such as Salsify, Syndigo, or Walmart Item 360.

· Strong analytical, copywriting, project-management, communication, and presentation skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across creative, commercial, and operational teams.

Preferred Qualifications

· Furniture, case goods, home furnishings, home improvement, or consumer-durables experience.

· Experience developing product opportunity briefs, assortment maps, competitive analyses, or retailer line-review materials.

· Knowledge of furniture materials, finishes, construction, pricing, or sourcing.

· Experience with Walmart Luminate, Retail Link, or comparable retailer data platforms.
