Full Job Description

Position Overview

Loan Factory is hiring an Accounting Manager to own the accounting function end-to-end — full ownership of month-end/year-end close, financial statement preparation, and a team of accounting staff. This is a hands-on leadership role, not an individual-contributor AP/payroll position.

Key Responsibilities

1. Close & Financial Reporting

Own the full month-end and year-end close process — journal entries, account reconciliations, close calendar
Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Deliver timely reporting for internal and external stakeholders

2. Team Leadership

Manage, train, and mentor accounting staff
Set performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback
Oversee AP, AR, and general ledger accounting performed by the team

3. Payroll & Commissions Oversight

Oversee payroll processing and Loan Officer commission payments
Ensure accuracy and compliance across all payroll-related transactions

4. Internal Controls & Audit

Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
Coordinate with external auditors and prepare required documentation
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

5. Analysis & Process Improvement

Prepare financial analysis and ad hoc reporting for leadership
Identify and implement process improvements in accounting operations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (ops, HR, capital markets) on payment issues and reporting needs

Qualifications

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including direct staff management
Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting
Proven experience owning a close process independently, not just supporting one
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office/Excel
Payroll processing experience required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CPA-track a plus
Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and communication skills
Comfortable working independently and leading a team in a fast-paced environment

Compensation: $110,000–$125,000 base, commensurate with experience, plus performance bonus. Health insurance, retirement plan, PTO, and professional development support. Final offer will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and internal equity, and in compliance with applicable state pay transparency laws.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
